A HIGH-PROFILE politician and publican were two of the winners in the December Club Limerick Draw.

Mayor of the city and county of Limerick, Gerald Mitchell, who has announced he is stepping away from politics after next year’s Local Elections, scooped the third prize. Mayor Mitchell won the tidy sum of €2,000.

Another winner in the draw is the very well-known publican Charlie Chawke who won the 17th prize of €200. Mr Chawke is on a roll as his establishment – Aunty Lena’s in Adare – was named Irish Pub of the Year 2023.

Club Limerick is the fundamental fundraising arm of Limerick GAA with a priority of “supporting the success of our county teams, clubs and facilities”.

All funds raised in Club Limerick Draw go towards the training fund of Limerick inter-county teams, and the entrant’s chosen local club.
