KNOCKADERRY GAA CLUB NOTES
RETURN TO CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES
The GAA has provided more guidelines and clarification on returning to play protocols ahead of Clubs Championship Games. There are a number of recommendations regarding limited subs, officials, spectators to water breaks.
So as our Club returns to Club Championship this week with our U21’s and Intermediates there are a few guidelines for Teams and spectators to follow.
The main points are:
No limit to team panel but only 24 permitted to pitch side. With officials 7 for hurling and 5 for football. Team officials and subs will be positioned at opposite sides of the pitch, to follow Government social distancing guidelines.
No water carriers allowed, water breaks will be permitted between the 12th and 15th minute in each half this is up to referees discretion. Own water bottes must be clearly marked.
There is no handshaking before or after games, no spitting and the team huddle only takes place where social distancing is observed.
The referee has the authority to send a person or persons in breech off regulations to the stand or outside the pitch, this person or persons cannot be replaced on pitch side.
Venues are limited to 200 people this means our Intermediate games are ticket only. From a Club perspective once panel members, management, backroom and Club officers are catered for we will be left with a small amount of tickets
for members. Tickets are priced at €8, no concessions for children, OAP’s, Juveniles or students. Please check with Sean Condon.
The GAA is recommending the wearing of face masks to games, this is just a
recommendation not a requirement.
The Covid 19 Supervisors or nominated personnel will be present at games and will be encouraging that hands are sanitizes entering and leaving the pitch. This will be for both home and away games.
Numbers of people inside the enclosure of the pitch is limited to subs, coaches and club officials. Spectators and children not togged to stay outside the pitch.
There will be no dressing rooms opened for the foreseeable future.
We ask that guidelines and regulations are respected as we return to play so all can stay safe.
If you have any queries regarding above information please contact Ger Corkery or Ger Downes.
