Munster Junior B football Competition:
The result in the Munster Junior B Football Semi Final played last Sunday – Diarmuid O’Mathunas of Cork 5.11 Kilruane MacDonaghs of Tipperary 2.5. The Cork champions will now face Kilagarvan of Kerry in the final this Sunday at 2pm. Three first half goals paved the way for Diarmuid O Mathunas on Sunday last as they attained a lead that was just too far for the Tipp champions to claw back despite a strong showing early in the second half. Based on the two previous outings the Cork men will go into Sunday’s final with great confidence, hoping to follow in the footsteps of their neighbors Randall Og who were winners in 2021. Kilgarvan will be formidable opponents having previously won the competition a number of years ago and have looked impressive in wins over Stradbally and Cooraclare in previous rounds. The availability of Donal ‘Down’ O Sullivan for Kilagarvan could very well make the difference. The in form Kerry forward has yet to make an apperance for the Kerry club in Knockaderry as he has been on intercounty duty and with Jack O Connor’s men in Omagh on Sunday to face Tyrone it means that Donal will be forced to chose where he will ply his trade this weekend. It promises to be an intriguing game and all are welcome on this Sunday in Knockaderry, 2pm throw up.
