Season’s Greetings:

We would like to give our sincere thanks to all those who have contributed to the running of Kilteely Dromkeen GAA club in 2021. The huge commitment given this year again by our juvenile and adult players, coaches, officers, volunteers, parents and all members despite these covid times is massively appreciated. We look forward to an exciting 2022 with many new projects planned to continue to improve our club and contribute positively to the lives of all our parishioners. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all.

Kilteely Dromkeen GAA and Community History Book Project:

At the AGM the very exciting History project was introduced. Huge credit is due to Bosco Ryan and Eddie O’Dea for their immense work already carried out with over 65% now written. While the two lads have been putting in thousands of hours of commitment over the coming weeks and months the project needs your help.

There is immediate help needed: Two practical areas where we would ask for help. Has anyone experience in typesetting, in particular the InDesign software? Also, does anyone have experience of colourising old b&w photos? We have some great photos that we would want to publish in both b&w and colour.

Finally, if anyone has any old artefacts/stories to tell of Kilteely Dromkeen GAA or that of the parish through the years please email or contact Bosco on 087 9684787. Thanks.

JTBCS 1st Year County Champions:

Congratulations to JTBCS Hospital 1st year hurling team on winning the TUS Sports first year A Hurling competition final yesterday by defeating STN Doon in Cappamore.

This is a fine achievement, and we are delighted to have our own club men Kieran Murphy, Shane Purcell & Michael Cosgrave involved. Together with their Pallasgreen U13 teamates James Carroll, Donagh Ryan, Paddy O’Dwyer, Conor O’Dwyer as well as locals Kevin Hennessy and Callum Ahern achieving this success is wonderful and shows the efforts these players and their club and school coaches have put in this year. Comhghairdeas!

The club was delighted to be in a position to donate to two very worthy causes in our community in the past week. Kilteely N.S. on the back of their excellent fundraising work this year received a sponsored piece of equipment for their new autism suite. The community hall in Kilteely is also in need of some repairs and the committee are currently running a Christmas Hamper raffle. This would not be possible without people supporting our fundraisers this year, primarily our club lotto and for this we are very grateful. Thank you.
