KILTEELY/DROMKEEN GAA CLUB NOTES

LipSync Night Raises €30000+ for Club Development

The dust has finally settled, people are just about recovering from the mental and physical effort it took to pull off, what was the greatest night the club has ever run.

There are so many people and companies to thank, we will ensure we do that in the official news announcement across all our communication channels, in the next week.

At this stage, we have still some outstanding monies to collect, but we are quietly confident that the €30000 barrier has been broken !

A phenomenal total for our parish, and something all in the club are very thankful for.

Please keep track of our Facebook page and Newsletter for the official announcement.

Congratulations to Sean O’Dea & Jack “Donie” Franklin

All in the club would like to congratulate both Sean and Jack on their recent exploits with their respective county teams.

Sean was part of the Limerick Football team, that thrillingly dispatched Tipperary from the Munster Football Championship by 7 points. This was the Footballers first Munster Championship win since 2012, and we all hope the run continues in June, when they line up to face Cork in the semi final.

Jack “Donie” Franklin played only this past week, as goalkeeper for the Limerick Minor hurling team against Cork in the opening game of the Munster Championship. With the game ending in a draw, we all look forward to seeing Jack’s name in goal, throughout the summer.

East Junior Hurling League

May 06th Kilteely Dromkeen 0.19 Caherline 1.15

Our hurlers would have been forgiven for feeling a little under the weather on bank holiday Monday evening after all their efforts on stage for our hugely successful Lip Sync on Saturday last. However, this seemed to spur the lads on and they came out on top, just, after a teak tough affair with our close rivals.

Having suffered two defeats already, the lads were determined to lay down a marker and let 0.8 to 0.2 after 20 minutes with some excellent points from Brian O Grady and David Murphy.

Caherline did hit their own purple patch but we still maintained a healthy lead at the break 0.12 to 0.8

Caherline started the second half with a goal a few points seeing them take the lead for the first time. When we lost a player to a straight red, things looked ominous but our lads dug deep to squeeze over the line.

A good win after a great weekend for the club on and off the field, but we all know the championship will be a different kettle of fish.

May 12th Ahane 1.17 Kilteely Dromkeen 6.20

A big win in Castleconnell yesterday evening on a fine evening for hurling.

This win sets up nicely, we play Doon this Tuesday in Kilteely at 7.15 still in with a chance of reaching the League Final
