Scoil Mocheallóg:
We were honoured to have Club legend, County great and former All star Paddy Kelly , come to Scoil Mocheallóg on Friday as part of Cumann na mBunscol week. We had invited Paddy to present medals to our winning teams and to talk to our school players. Our South winners and our indoor hurling league winners from 3 rd to 6 th aswell as our ground hurling winners from 1 st and 2 nd class tournaments, all were presented with medals on the day.
Paddy had the audience gripped with his talk of his past games and he also brought his most significant medals with him and shared his advice to our players on how to improve skills and what makes a great player. Then the pupils got a chance to ask questions and Paddy shared some great stories of past battles with us. He had great praise for John Kiely too with John having been a former pupil of his during his teaching days in the Abbey in Tipp. Paddy thanked our coaches for the time they give after school for training and matches and was also full of praise for our state of the art facilities in Scoil Mocheallóg.
It was a great occasion and we were delighted to have had such a legend in our school as an inspiration to all who play. Go raibh míle Paddy .
U10’S Football Blitz:
We hosted Ballylanders, Galtee Gaels and Coshlea Gaels last Friday night. Throughout the four matches we all played, there was an exhibition skill, commitment, teamwork and honesty by all those who graced the Fair Green. The vision, movement and execution of skills were joy to behold for the many supporters who viewed the matches. Dare it be spoken within the environs of our historic town walls, the lads seem to enjoy the football. Well done to our two teams of Ollie Tobin, Kia Mulcahy, Caleb O’Riordan, Charlie Kiely, Chris & Arthur Noonan, Harry Kiely, Jamie Flynn, Max Goodchild, Noah O’Mahoney, Fionn O’Dwyer, Fionn O’Shaughnessy, Arian & Fionn Freeney, thanks to the three teams for travelling.
