KILKENNY v LIMERICK ON HURLING’S BIGGEST DAY

And then there were two! Kilkenny and Limerick will contest the All Ireland hurling final on Sunday week, after beating Clare and Galway respectively in the semi-finals.
The Leinster and Munster champions built on their provincial
successes in vastly contrasting circumstances, Kilkenny winning by 12
points while Limerick had three to spare over Galway.
It will be the first meeting between Kilkenny and Limerick in the final
since 2007 when the Cats won by 2-19 to 1-15. Prior to that, they
hadn’t met in the final since 1974.
It will be Limerick’s fourth appearance in the final in five seasons,
missing out only in 2019 when they lost to Kilkenny in the semi-final.
They are bidding for the All-Ireland three-in-a-row for the first time
in their history, a feat last achieved by Kilkenny in 2008.
Kilkenny were last in the final in 2019, where they lost to Tipperary.
They last won the All-Ireland in 2015.
