KILDIMO PALLASKENRY

LIMERICK SENIOR FOOTBALLERS: Hard luck to Peter Nash, Tony McCarthy and the Limerick senior footballers who were defeated in the National Football League Division 3 final in Croke Park at the weekend. It just wasn’t their day as, having led at half-time, a second half goal for their opponents proved crucial. However, regardless of the result, it has been a fantastic league campaign for the Limerick senior footballers as they achieved promotion to Division 2 and will be playing the likes of Dublin, Kildare and Derry next season! They can now look forward to Championship, and we’d like to wish them the very best of luck in that competition also!
LIMERICK U-20 HURLERS: A huge congratulations to Davy Fitzgerald who has been named as part of the Limerick U-20 hurling panel for the 2022 season, whose first Championship outing is next Wednesday, April 6 against Clare in the Gaelic Grounds. A Limerick minor last year, it is some achievement to make the U-20 panel at such a young age! Well done to Davy and the best of luck to him and his Limerick teammates on Wednesday!
SENIOR HURLERS: Our senior hurlers open their league campaign on Tuesday night against neighbours Ballybrown at 6.45pm in Ballybrown. Best of luck to all involved! They will follow up that match with a home against Patrickswell on Friday evening.
LIMERICK U-16 FOOTBALL: Delighted to have three representatives on the Limerick U-16 football academy team for 2022 as Ross Allen, Sam Guerin and Cian O’Sullivan are all involved! Well done to all three, and we’d like to wish them the very best of luck for the year!
LIMERICK U-14 FOOTBALL: Congratulations to Jake Higgins who has been named as part of the Limerick U-14 football academy team for 2022. Well done to Jake and we’d like to wish him and his teammates the very best of luck for the season ahead.
PRIMARY GAME: Congratulations to Zach Bennis who has been selected for the Primary School Game for the year!
MACKEY CUP: Well done to Eoin O’Keeffe and Eoin Kavanagh who represented Pallaskenry National School, and Zach Bennis and Jack O’Shea who represented Kildimo National School in the Mackey Cup during the week!
NEVILLE CUP: Well done to Cait O’Donoghue and Emma Ryan who represented Kildimo National School on the City team in the Neville Cup during the week!
EASTER CAMP: Looking for something to entertain the kids over Easter break – why not send them to our Easter Camp which is co-ordinated by our own Peter Nash? The camp entails three days of fun, games, improving skills and plenty of fresh air from Tuesday April 19 to Thursday April 21. Camp takes place in Kildimo from 10am to 2pm each day so children are advised to bring a lunch, snacks and plenty of water. All children must be registered for the camp on the club TeamApp.
CLUB LOTTO: There was no winner of the club lotto draw this week. Numbers drawn were 5, 12, 20, 29. The €25 lucky dip winners were 1. Liz & Helen Enright c/o Eamonn Enright; 2.

Six-month and annual lotto subscriptions are also now available. With ongoing restrictions our club lotto is the most vital fundraising and income source for the club, even more so now when all other fundraising activities remain suspended and not possible to run. We are continuing to reach out to members, supporters, friends of our club to please consider joining and playing the lotto online in order to support the ongoing costs of running our club. The best way to support the club right now is through the lotto!
Tickets are also available in Mace Kildimo, Gala Pallaskenry, the Seven Sisters, the Beer Garden, De Bucket, the Corner House and Clancy’s Bar and from our weekly lotto sellers. Please continue to support your local club!
CLUB DEVELOPMENT: Well done to our Development Committee, whose hard work paid off when they secured €54,474 in a grant from Sports Capital Ireland for our Ballwall & Astro project. Concrete footings have been poured in Pallaskenry in preparation for this; we hope that the wall will be installed in time for St. Patrick’s Day! However, we still need to raise approximately €20,000 in order to complete the project with floodlighting, footpaths & security. Anybody who would like to support this initiative can do so via our Appreciation Wall & Signage program. Contact any committee member for details.
CLUB LIMERICK DRAW: Unfortunately, we had no winner in the first Club Limerick draw of the year. The Club Limerick draw has always been an important source of funds for our club, with funds being shared equally between club and county teams. You can join this online or contact our draw co-ordinator, Bernie O’Dea, at bernod@gmail.com.
