KILDIMO PALLASKENRY GAA CLUB NOTES
CLUB LOTTO: We had a winner of our €13,600 lotto jackpot! Congratulations to Lynda Ivess whose winning numbers were 9, 14, 16 & 28! Enjoy your winnings, Lynda! The lotto will return to €3,000 from next week with four €25 lucky dips being given out if the jackpot is not won.
Our lotto has moved online and can be played at https://smartlotto.ie/kildimo-pallaskenry-gaa/lotto with options to play weekly, monthly or as often as you like! Six-month and annual lotto subscriptions are also now available. With ongoing restrictions our club lotto is the most vital fundraising and income source for the club, even more so now when all other fundraising activities remain suspended and not possible to run. We are continuing to reach out to members, supporters, friends of our club to please consider joining and playing the lotto online in order to support the ongoing costs of running our club. The best way to support the club right now is through the lotto!
Tickets are also available in Mace Kildimo, Gala Pallaskenry, the Seven Sisters, the Beer Garden, De Bucket, the Corner House and Clancy’s Bar and from our weekly lotto sellers. Please continue to support your local club!
CLUB DEVELOPMENT: Well done to our Development Committee, whose hard work paid off when they secured €54,474 in a grant from Sports Capital Ireland for our Ballwall & Astro project. Concrete footings have been poured in Pallaskenry in preparation for this; we hope that the wall will be installed in time for St. Patrick’s Day! However, we still need to raise approximately €20,000 in order to complete the project with floodlighting, footpaths & security. Anybody who would like to support this initiative can do so via our Appreciation Wall & Signage program. Contact any committee member for details.
CLUB LIMERICK DRAW: The Club Limerick draw has always been an important source of funds for our club, with funds being shared equally between club and county teams. You can join this online or contact our draw co-ordinator, Bernie O’Dea, at bernod@gmail.com.
REGISTRATION: We return to the field for training next week, and it is vitally important that all members are registered before they return. Registration can be completed online via the Foireann website, a guide to this is included on the Kildimo/Pallaskenry Team App. Foireann is an important and integral element of the club’s database. In order to make this an efficient process, it is important that a family group is set up on Foireann if a family membership is required. More than one person is considered a family group irrespective of age or playing status. Log into Foireann using your existing log in details or, if not previously registered, a new account needs to be created for each adult that will form the family unit. All adult members should select GAA membership assigning full and social membership as applicable. Girls born from 2009 onwards should be registered as a camogie player.
LIMERICK SENIOR FOOTBALLERS: There was disappointment for the Limerick senior footballers who suffered their first defeat of the 2022 league campaign against Louth at the weekend. Inclement weather saw the match moved from the Gaelic Grounds to UL North Campus and, although Limerick played well for large periods, a late flurry of scores by their opponents saw them sneak victory. Our own Tony McCarthy and Peter Nash both started for Limerick but Wicklow are next up in Aughrim next weekend.
LIMERICK SENIOR HURLERS: Best of luck to Kyle Hayes, Darren O’Connell, Ruairí Maher, Mark Melbourne and the Limerick senior hurlers next weekend as they take on Cork in the Gaelic Grounds in a repeat of the 2021 All-Ireland final!
LIMERICK U-20 FOOTBALLERS: Hard luck to Garry Sheehan, selector John Chawke, kitman Kieran Barrett and the Limerick U-20 footballers who fell to Clare in the first round of the O’Connor Cup on a 4-3 to 3-9 scoreline, in very difficult conditions.
LIMERICK MINOR FOOTBALLERS: Well done to Shane O’Sullivan, Ethan Browne, Tiernan Meaney and Conor McMahon who started for the Limerick minor footballers versus Laois at the weekend.
PITCH SIGNAGE: If you or business is interested in supporting your local GAA club, give us a message on social media for details of pitch signage options in both Kildimo and Pallaskenry GAA grounds.
TWITTER: The club also have a new twitter account which can be found by searching Kildimo/Pallaskenry GAA or by the twitter handle @kildimopallas. Give the club a follow to keep up to date with all the latest club news.
