KILDIMO PALLASKENRY GAA CLUB NOTES

REGISTRATION: It won’t be long before we return to the field for training, and it is vitally important that all members are registered before they return. Registration can be completed online via the Foireann website, a guide to this is included on the Kildimo/Pallaskenry Team App.
LIMERICK SENIOR FOOTBALLERS: Congratulations to the Limerick senior footballers who made it two wins from two at the start of their league campaign with a victory away to Antrim. Our very own Peter Nash was Limerick’s top scorer on the day, with a superb 1-2 from play, while Tony McCarthy appeared from the bench. It’s been a fantastic start to the season for the Limerick footballers, they were considered significant underdogs against Antrim, but are sitting pretty on top of the table. Well done to all involved, particularly to our own Tony & Peter!
LIMERICK SENIOR HURLERS: There was disappointment for the Limerick senior hurlers who fell in their opening league game, away to Wexford. It was a tight, absorbing battle in an extremely windy Wexford Park. Our own Darren O’Connell appeared off the bench in the second half, while Kyle Hayes was also included in the matchday panel. Next up is Galway on Saturday night in the Gaelic Grounds.
COACH TRAINING: Before heading off to put in a superb performance up in Antrim, we were also delighted to have Peter Nash run a session for our underage coaches, which will be of huge benefit. Many thanks to Peter, as always!
LIMERICK U-20 FOOTBALLERS: Congratulations to Garry Sheehan who has been named on the Limerick U-20 football panel for the upcoming season, which is fast approaching! We also have members included in the backroom team, in the form of last year’s county title-winning manager, John Chawke, who is a selector, as well as Kieran Barrett who is the kitman. Best of luck to all involved for the season ahead!
TRENCH CUP: We had three clubmen who were part of the TUS Midwest panel who defeated TUS Midlands in the Trench Cup during the week. Last year’s intermediate football captain, Liam O’Sullivan, started wing-back in this one-point victory while Jamie Hickey & Darren Lane were also on the matchday panel.
SCHOOLS U-15 FOOTBALL: Well done to the Salesian College, Copsewood U-15 football team who defeated Mungret College during the week to reach the county final!
