JOHN Kiely says he is delighted to remain as Limerick senior hurling manager for another two years.

Kiely has been put forward by the county board to remain as Limerick senior hurling manager for the 2025 and 2026 seasons.

“I’m really looking forward to it. We were disappointed with how our year ended this year. We still had a very good campaign, but we are very much looking forward to 2025 and building on our past successes. There’s a great bunch of lads there and there’s been lots of good players out there in the Club Championship at the moment. We’re very much looking forward to the next two years,” said John Kiely.

It was also announced that Paul Kinnerk will be put forward to continue his role as coach of the Limerick senior hurling team on a two year term.

The Limerick senior hurling management team will be ratified at the next county board meeting in October.

John Kiely has attended a number of club hurling championship fixtures in the county in recent weeks.

Supporters across the county will be delighted with the news that Kiely has been put forward to remain at the helm for the 2025 season.

Kiely has brought a huge amount of success to this Limerick team where he has won six Munster titles in-a-row between 2019 and 2024, five All-Ireland titles in six years and three National League titles.

The Shannonsiders were hoping to create history this year by becoming the first hurling team to win five All-Ireland SHC titles in a row, but that dream came to an end when Cork defeated Limerick in the All-Ireland semi-final.

Limerick can still look back on 2024 with a sense of achievement by becoming the first team to win six Munster Championships in-a-row.

John Kiely has taken a career break this year from his teaching duties at the Abbey School in Tipperary Town where he has served as deputy principal. He has taken up a role working with JP McManus ahead of the staging of the 2027 Ryder Cup in Adare.

Meanwhile, Jimmy Lee will remain in charge of the Limerick senior footballers for the 2025 season. Lee took over the Treaty County in 2024 and the Newcastle West man will head into his second year of his two-year term in 2025.

Jimmy Lee has made some changes to his backroom team. Micheal Cahill, Adrian O’Brien and Dylan Finn will all be part of the Limerick senior football management team.

Cahill has previously spent time in the US working in sports peroformance and sports science. The Mungret St Paul’s clubman will carry out the role of head coach.

Adrian O’Brien was previously involved with the Limerick senior footballers under Billy Lee.Dylan Kenny will continue in his role as strength and conditioning coach.

Jimmy Lee’s side will compete in the Divsion Four of the National Football league in 2025.
