Intermediate Hurling:
Our intermediate hurlers finished a disappointing albeit unlucky campaign Saturday in Bruff with a fantastic performance against Kilmallock in what a game of huge scoring and plenty of good hurling. Having lost by 2 points to Cappamore, 1 point to Feohanagh/Castlemahon, a win over Croom and a hugely disappointing derby defeat to Knockainey todays performance was the best of the year. With a very small panel the lads who wore the jersey have put in a big effort and have ended the year in 4th place in the group. The lads started strong today and had a 2.09 to 1.04 lead at halftime running out winners 4.18 to 5.08. With the phenomenal leadership of captain and club legend Mark Deegan who was majestic at centre back and an awesome performance from Oisin O Grady who nabbed 4.01 from play all the lads put in a huge shift to get the victory. Huge kudos to Griffin McCaffrey who for such a young man and his first year at adult level gave some fantastic displays for us this year. With 4 lads living in Dublin and a small panel our lads have shown great pride in the jersey throughout the year. With a serious influx of youth coming in the next few years our future is bright and hopefully all the lads can stick together and drive on for 2025 where no doubt these lads can raise their standards and improve no end. Thanks so much to the management team of Mike O Grady as manager, Brian Foley as coach, Eddie Sheehan as selector and James Daly on stats for the work this year. Thanks to our supporters who travelled in great numbers to matches, to the club officials for anything that was needed was got, physio’s, and thanks so much to the players for their efforts this year. Today’s team was Aaron Murphy, John O Riordan, Darragh Sullivan, Killian Real, Ross Winship, Mark Deegan (C), Killian O Shea, Griffin McCaffrey, Callum Winship, Tadgh Leddin, Michael Whelan, Michael Leddin, Harry Fox, Oisin O Grady, Conor O Grady. Subs Used: Keith O Connor, Joe Fogarty.
