Our Hurlers played Doon in round 6 of county hurling league on Thursday . Doon got off to flying start and scored a few quick points. Our lads worked well and worked into a lot of scoring positions but we had a lot of wide’s in first half. We went in at half time trailing 1pt to 5pts. We started the second half very well and scored a goal and point to draw level. Doon came back at us again strongly. But our boys worked very well. Then Doon got 2 quick goals. Again our lads kept their heads up and worked themselves into some good scoring positions. We scored another goal and point and Doon scored a point. Unfortunately we just couldn’t peg them back finishing on a score line of H-H 2-3 Doon 2-7. We were to rue the misses we had in first half. A very good performance by all our players and on another night our misses would have been scores. Well done all.
U12 LIT Gaelic Grounds Blitz Well done to our u12s who played in a Munster hurling blitz on Saturday in Limerick’s LIT Gaelic Grounds. They play 3 games. First up was an excellent and very tight v Cappoquin Affane from Waterford with our boys losing out to the narrowest of margins by 1point. Next up we played Donoughmore from Cork. Again a tight game but our opponents pulled away in the end. Our last game was against Roscrea of Tipperary. This was a very tight and keenly contested game. Roscrea scored and early goal but the game then was score for score with only their early goal separating us at the finish. Well done to all our players on the day. Also great thanks to the great support we had also. Thanks also to Noel Hartigan and his team for running an excellent event. Next up for our players is a challenge game v Newtownshandrum on Thursday
