County Junior A Football semi final H/H vs Camogue Rovers Sat Oct 21st at 1pm in Knockainey.
Our Intermediate hurlers championship unfortunately ended today at the semi final stage today losing out to a well drilled Croagh/Kilfinny team who were looking to appear in their 3rd final in a row. In what was a season of 2 halves the lads in the past month have put in some savage displays to reach this stage. With losses to Bruree, Pallasgreen & Croagh in the group stage it was looking like a relegation battle was on the cards but credit to everyone involved, excellent wins over Kilmallock & Knockaderry got us through the group stage on points difference and a never to be forgotten derby win over Knockainey last weekend which will live long in the memory. Only playing 6 days after the intensity & high of last week it was always going to be tough going especially missing 3 lads from last week. The lads never gave up today & played until the end. Huge pride has been put back into the jersey after a difficult few years. Thanks so much to all the players this year who made huge sacrifices & the management team of Gary O Sullivan, John O Shea, Damian Reale, TJ Ryan & Jimmy O Donnell for everything ye have done. It takes a huge commitment to keep things going especially in a club where our numbers are very tight so credit to all. We didn’t have a full deck to pick from at any stage so it makes the achievement of a semi final all the more remarkable. Hopefully this can be a stepping stone to future success as there are a lot of good lads coming in the next few years. Hospital/Herbertstown Abu!
