U8
Our u8 hurlers hosted Garryspillane, Blackrock and Bruff recently. Some very competitive games were had, we had 21 players on the night and it was great to see our younger players especially, really getting involved in the games and showing great energy, keep up the good work

U10
Well done to our U10’s who played Ahane and Newport in a mini blitz. We preformed excellently on the night against 2 very good sides well done to all and thanks to Ahane GAA for hosting us.

U 12
Our U 12s played in the Chris Morrissey U12 Hurling Tournament in Newtownshandrum on Saturday. Our first game was against host Newtownshandrum and was a very good game not much separating the teams. Unfortunately for us Rian McNamara got injured and the host pulled away to win.
In our second game we came up against a very strong Newport team. Who won strongly. In our finals game we played Ballyhea. Our opponents flew into a strong lead. But our boys fought back and with great work and skill drew the game.
This was a great day of hurling for lads. And with a few players missing all our players had great game time. Thanks to our host Newtownshandrum for the invitation and for great tournament.

Herbertstown NS were the inaugural winners of the Harry Greensmyth cup which is awarded to the winners of the Roinn A South Cumann na mBunscol 3rd and 4th class blitz which was played this year for the first time.
Knockainey NS, Ballylanders NS, Kilfinane NS, Galbally NS and Herbertstown NS participated in the competition which was played in Martinstown.
Near neighbours Knockainey NS and Herbertstown NS met in the final which was keenly contested with Herbertstown emerging as winners.
Christina Greensmyth, wife of the late Harry, presented the cup to the Herbertstown captain. Harry’s name was synonymous with GAA in South Limerick and beyond and it is fitting that he is honoured for his service to our national games.
Herbertstown NS became one of the first schools in the area to become official GAA 5 Star Centres. Last week, the occasion was marked by the raising of the GAA 5 Star Centre flag in the school by Limerick Hurler Paddy O Loughlin. Well done to all involved.
