HOSPITAL/HERBERTSTOWN GAA CLUB NOTES
Fixtures: Our Under 19 hurlers met Cois Laoi Gaels in the County Final last Wednesday evening. On a very wet evening, with hard fought scores, a converted penalty midway through the last quarter put them within touching distance of Cois Laoi Gaels, a dramatic last minute goal secured the victory for Naoimh Eoin with a score line of 3-6 to 1-11.
Hospital Herbertstown U14 hurlers took part in the inaugural Seamus Murphy tournament in Glenroe Gaa on the bank holiday Monday. Paired against Ballygiblin in the 1st semi final , our boys recovered from a slow start to win 1.12 to 1.8 . In the 2nd semi final Glenroe beat Bruff . The final against Glenroe was a great game of hurling but a reduced squad and fatigue from the 1st game took it’s toll on our boys as Glenroe got the goals in the second half to win . Great credit is due to the players for their commitment and effort . Ballygiblin beat Bruff in the shield final .Thanks to Glenroe for the invitation to this well ran tournament and for the refreshments afterwards
