Intermediate Hurling. Having beaten Doon 0.23 to 0.22 after extra time in a very tough semifinal in Kilteely a few days before, our Intermediate hurlers had a great & hard fought win over Tournafulla in the County Intermediate League Hurling Final in Ballyagran on Sunday last. Playing against a strong breeze we found ourselves 3 points up coming up to halftime but a very strong finish & a well worked goal had Tournafulla leading 1.08 to 0.09 at halftime. The first ten mins of the 2nd half were nip & tuck until the lads got a grip of the game & scored 7 points without reply until a goal direct from a free by Conor O Grady put the game to bed. All six starting forwards scored from play and another 3 points near the end gave us a great win on a scoreline of 1.21 to 1.12 in what is our first county title at Intermediate level since the 2010 championship. Team: Aaron Murphy, John Riordan, Joe Fogarty (C), Killian Real, Sean Deegan, Oisin O Grady, Killian O Shea, Adrian Canty, Mikey Bob Ryan, Diarmuid Quirke, Conor O Grady, Harry Fox, Keith O Connor, John Fitzgerald & Michael Whelan. Subs: Liam O Donnell, Ger McInerney, Peter Sheeran, Thomas Ryan, Darragh O Sullivan, Jack O Sullivan, Michael Leddin & Dylan O Connor. Lads who played a vital part throughout the campaign but were unavailable for various reasons: Mark Deegan, Tadgh Leddin, Ross Winship, Callum Winship, Dean O Shea. Well done to the players & management on a great achievement.
Congratulations. The club wishes to congratulate club stalwart Aaron Murphy & Clodagh Keogh on their marriage at the weekend & wish them every happiness in the future.
