Last Saturday morning , 14th September our U-14s played Belville Gaels in the County Semi-final in Feenagh. We got off to a great start with 2 quick goals from Griffin McCaffrey and Aaron Ryan but Belville quickly settled down and scored an unanswered 1-7 and only for some great work from our backs the scoreline could have been more. The half time score was 1-7 to 2-1. After a few changes at half time we started the half with 3 unanswered points but we faded again and found ourselves 7 points down with 8 mins to go we then made some positional changes moving Lorcan Costelloe to full forward and within 5 mins of that he had scored 2 goals and we were only a point down but unfortunately we couldn’t see it out and lost on a scoreline of 2-12 to 4-4. That loss marked the end of season for our U14s . A big thanks to Tom Costello, Mike Gleeson, John Leo, Tommie Burke and trainer Ivor McCaffrey who looked after the team during the season which consisted of 50 training sessions and 31 matches well done to all involved.

U13 Our U 13s played Glenroe in a round 2 of county championship on Wednesday in Glenroe. This was a tough game. We got off to a poor start conceding a soft goal in first minute. We settled a bit after that and scored 2 points. At half time we were behind by a goal. The second half was similar. With our lads unable to bridge the gap. Glenroe winning out 2-5 to 0-5. Unfortunately we missed a few goal chances and we weren’t as strong as our previous few u13 games.
