GRANAGH/BALLINGARRY GAA CLUB NOTES
SATURDAY’S RESCHEDULED COUNTY JUNIOR B FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP QUARTER-FINAL
The eagerly-awaited meeting of newly crowned West champion Granagh/Ballingarry and East runners-up Fedamore in the Limerick County Junior B football championship quarter final cancelled on Thursday night due to the weather has been rescheduled for this Saturday 6th November in Croom at 3p.m. This is the first ever meeting of these sides in this competition.
Four times winners Granagh/Ballingarry 1989, 1996, 2002, 2010, defeated neighbours Knockaderry by 5 points 1-11 to 1-6 in the West Final, will be aiming to reach the county semi for the first time since 2018 where they defeated Mungret/St. Paul’s 2-12 to 4-5, but unfortunately went under to Dromcollogher/Broadford in the final by a point 2-6 to 0-13 at Knockaderry. Fedamore, winners in 2015 when they defeated Crecora/Manister by three points 1-7 to 0-7 at Croom, suffered a 2-15 t 1-8 defeat to Knockane in the East Limerick final in a game they were well in the running until they were reduced to fourteen players 20 minutes into the opening with a straight red card will be hoping to reach their first semi-final going under to Banogue 1-12 to 1-3 in 2019.
A tough hard-fought contest is expected with neither side fearing the other and confident of victory to reach the semi-final.
Your support would be appreciated in Croom this Saturday 6th November at 3p.m. to cheer on the boys in black and green and their management team in their bid to reach the Limerick County Junior B football championship semi-final for the first time since 2018.

County U-21 B Hurling Championship Group 2
A busy few days of action for Granagh/Ballingarry in group 2 of the County U-21 B hurling championship. They played Ballybricken/Bohermore/Fedamore last night in Caherdavin (no result at the time of going to press). This Sunday 7th November they play neighbours Croom in Ballingarry at 12 noon and Knockaderry on Tuesday 9th November in Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale at 7.30pm
Hopefully all the Gaels in both Granagh and Ballingarry will travel to Ballingarry this Sunday at 12 noon and to Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale on Tuesday 9th November at 7.30p.m. to support the boys in black and green and their management team.
€15,600 Jackpot on Saturday
There was no winner of the €15,500 jackpot in the Granagh/Ballingarry GAA Club lottery this Saturday 30th October. The numbers drawn were 17, 25, 29 and 31. The lucky dip winners of €20 each went to Noreen McCarthy, promoter Donagh McCarthy, Diarmuid O’Riordan, promoter Dinny A, Patricia Power, promoter online, Paddy Hennessy, promoter Paddy Hennessy.
The next draw for a jackpot of €15,600 will be held on Saturday 6th November at Condrons. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5 and are on sale in local shops and bars and from promoters. Denis O’Keeffe RIP
A great old Gaelic games enthusiast official and supporter died on Wednesday 27th October – Denis O’Keeffe, Main Street, Ballingarry. The late Denis served for many years as Granagh/Ballingarry Bord na nOg Secretary and PRO of both the Ballingarry and Knockfierna Gaels Club and ever since maintained his interest in GAA affairs. His death is sincerely regretted by all in Granagh/Ballingarry GAA Club.
We extend our sympathy to his wife Nora, son Thomas, daughters Mary (Morrissey) and Deirdre (O’Connell) and his extended family and friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
