Hearty congratulations to the Granagh/Ballingarry Junior Camogie girls on their impressive 4-12 to 1-0 victory over gallant Blackrock/Effin in the County Junior C Camogie Plate Final played in heavy underfoot conditions in Effin on Sunday morning. After the game the Limerick County Board chairperson Marian Quinn presented the trophy to a delighted winning captain Áine Lenihan and the Player of the Match award to Róisín Herlihy who displayed trojan work throughout the game. Well done to all involved in a great win for our camogie girls.
Neighbours Clash in County U20B Hurling Championship on Friday night:
Mountcollins is the venue on this Friday night at 8pm under lights for the much delayed clash of neighbours Granagh/Ballingarry/Croom and Croagh/Kilfinny/Rathkeale in the much delayed Round 2 tie in Group 3 of the Limerick County U20B Hurling Championship. Croagh/Kilfinny/Rathkeale will enter Friday night’s games second in the group on two points after suffering a 5-17 to 1-12 defeat to Pallasgreen but got their campaign back on track last time out with a thrilling one point 3-17 to 3-16 victory over Belville Gaels (Feenagh/Kilmeedy/Feohanagh/Castlemahon). It will be the Granagh/Ballingarry/Croom boys first game on Friday night as their game last Friday night against Pallasgreen was cancelled. The pitch in Knocklong was unplayable and they were forced to give a walkover to Belville Gaels on Sunday for good reason. An exciting game is in prospect in Mountcollins on Friday night as a win is a must for both sides to stay in contention for a semi final spot. Please support.
