Dublin book first semi-final spot since 2013 with 2 point win:
All Ireland Senior Hurling Championship quarter-final
Dublin 2-24 Limerick 0-28
Hard luck to the Limerick senior hurlers and management whose brave bid
to reach their eight successive All Ireland senior hurling semi-final
was dashed when going under to a superb 14-man Dublin side by two points
at Croke Park on Saturday. Dublin’s two point victory was all the more
impressive as they played 55 minutes with only 14 players following the
14th minute dismissal of the No. 6 captain Chris Crummey for a high
tackle on Gearóid Hegarty. Dublin now play Munster champions Cork in the
All Ireland Senior Hurling Championship semi-final on Saturday 5th July
in Croke Park at 5pm while Leinster champions Kilkenny play Tipperary in
the second semi on Sunday 6th July in Croke Park at 4pm. Thank you to
the players, management and all involved with this great Limerick side
for the many outstanding displays given and wonderful memories over the
last eight years, winning fourteen titles, three National League
Division 1 titles, six Munster Championship titles and five All Ireland
Championship titles. If the most of this panel of players and management
stay together they will be a match for the best again next season.
