Glenroe and Ahane are First Round Opponents:
The draws for the 2025 Limerick County Premier Intermediate Hurling and Premier Junior Football Championship which took place on Tuesday 21st January have generated a buzz of excitement in Granagh/Ballingarry. The prospect of playing south divisional side Glenroe in the first round of the Premier County Intermediate Hurling Championship and 2024 County Junior A champions Ahane in the opening game of Group 2 in the Premier County Junior Football Championship.

2025 GAA National Club Draw:
Granagh Ballingarry GAA Club are promoting the 2025 National Club Draw. There is no financial cost to the club to get involved as the cost of tickets and prizes are covered by the Central Council. In addition to maintaining the proceeds for all tickets sold by the club, any club who sells a minimum of 200 tickets automatically gets into a draw for €1,000, a prize won by Granagh Ballingarry GAA Club in March 2024. Prizes include 1st €50,000, 2nd €20,000, 3rd €10,000. Other prizes include All Ireland Final tickets and overnight package, €2,500 voucher plus a number of other cost prizes. Tickets are currently on sale in local shops/bars and from promoters.

Club Membership 2025:
Granagh/Ballingarry GAA club membership fees for 2025 are fixed at €100 to include membership of the club draw. Bord na nÓg players €40 (€90 maximum for two or more players), family membership. Players to register online to pay fees through foireannatgaa.ie as per official guide before training and playing season commence.

Carey’s late two pointer free earns Longford a share of the points:

In miserable conditions in Longford Pearse Cork on Sunday afternoon with the new Gaelic football rules a late two pointed free by Matthew Carey paved the way for a thrilling 2-12 to 1-15 draw for Longford with Limerick in the opening round of Division 4 in the National Football League. Limerick’s next outing is this Sunday 2nd February at 2pm in Mick Neville Park Rathkeale where they face a Wexford side, impressive 2-24 to 2-6 winners over London at Wexford Park on Saturday. Your support for the boys in green and white at Mick Neville Park on Sunday would be appreciated.

National Hurling League Division 1 A Round 2:
We wish the best of luck to manager John Kiely, our own Darragh O’Grady, stats and the rest of the management team as 6-in-a-row Munster Senior hurling champions Limerick travel to Pairc Ui Chaoimh to play defeated All Ireland finalists Cork in round 2 of Group 1 A of the National Hurling League this Saturday 1st February in a rematch of last year’s thrilling All Ireland semi-final won by two points 1-28 to 0-29 by Cork at Croke Park on Sunday 7th July. In the opening series of league games on Saturday, Cork recorded an impressive 2-21 to 0-12 victory over Wexford in Wexford Park, while Limerick had a bye. Your support for the Shannonsiders in Pairc Ui Chaoimh on Saturday for the 7.30pm throw in would be appreciated to cheer them on to a winning start to their National Hurling League Division 1A campaign.

The Granagh Players present Send ‘Em Home Sweatin’, an adaptation of the Carnival of Glenduff by Padraic McInyre in Granagh Community Centre V35C584 at 8pm nightly, Friday 31st January, Saturday and Sunday 1st and 2nd February. €8,600 Jackpot on Saturday:
There was no winner of the €8,500 jackpot in the lottery draw on Saturday 25th January in Buckley’s bar, Ballingarry. The numbers drawn were 7, 12, 18 and 31. The lucky dips of €20 each went to ClaireHehir, promoter online; Carmel Ryan, promoter Dinny A’s Bar, Ballingarry; Joe Condon, promoter Pat Herlihy, Ann Stokes, promoter John O’Keeffe.
The next draw will be held on Saturday 1st February in Condron’s Bar, Ballingarry for a jackpot of €8,600.
