Reconvened AGM on Thursday 16th January:
Granagh-Ballingarry GAA Club will reconvene its AGM on Thursday 16th January in the clubhouse, Ballingarry at 8pm to appoint a chairperson, executive committee, and West and County Board delegates.
First Special General Meeting of 2025:
Granagh-Ballingarry GAA club will hold their first special general meeting of 2025 immediately after the AGM on Thursday 16th January in the clubhouse, Ballingarry at 8.30pm.

Limerick GAA Season Tickets:
Limerick County GAA Board launched their 2025 season tickets recently. The tickets will entitle the bearer entry to all Limerick County Board club games in 2025. For 150 it would make an ideal present for a family member or friend and can be purchased online at limerickgaa.ie tel 061-335576.

Club Membership 2025:
Granagh-Ballingarry GAA Club membership fees for 2025 are fixed at 100 to include membership of the club draw. Bord na nOg players 40 (90 maximum for two or more players). No family membership. Players to register online to pay fees through Foireann at gaa.ie as per official guide before training and playing season commence.
2025 Club Draw Lottery:
The Granagh-Ballingarry GAA 2025 club draw will be held quarterly with €2,000 in prizes, 1st €1,000 and ten prizes of €100 with the option to join the club weekly lottery and draw for €150 and club draw lottery/county club draw for €200. If you wish to renew your membership please contact your promoter on or before Wednesday 19th March, as the first draws will take place on Saturday 29th March.
2025 GAA National Club Draw:
Granagh Ballingarry GAA Club are promoting the 2025 National Club Draw. There is no financial cost to the club to get involved as the cost of tickets and prizes are covered by the Central Council. In addition to maintaining the proceeds for all tickets sold by the club, any club who sells a minimum of 200 tickets automatically gets into a draw for €1,000, a prize won by Granagh Ballingarry GAA Club in March 2024. Prizes include 1st €50,000, 2nd €20,000, 3rd €10,000. Other prizes include All Ireland Final tickets and overnight package, €2,500 voucher plus a number of other cost prizes. Tickets are currently on sale in local shops/bars and from promoters.
Joe Noonan RIP:
All in Granagh-Ballingarry GAA club and the entire community were stunned in grief last Thursday with the sudden passing of Joe Noonan, the Bridge House, Granagh. Joe was a member of very successful Granagh-Ballingarry underage hurling teams in the late 70s and early 80s, winning a West U-14 A hurling championship in 1976, West Under 16A Hurling Championship in 1976-1978 and West Minor A Hurling championship in 1980. In 1981 Joe was a member of the Granagh team that suffered narrow defeats to Knockaderry in the West U-21 A hurling championship final and to Tournafulla in the West Senior Hurling Championship final. Six years later on Sunday 5th July 1987 Joe won his fifth West hurling medal when Granagh defeated their sister club Ballingarry in the West Junior A Hurling League Final captained by his brother Derry, which was the final occasion that the two sides of the p arish faced each other in a West hurling final prior to amalgamation in 1990.
Joe enjoyed playing soccer with Granagh United, golf with Knockfierna Gold Society, shooting with Castletown-Granagh-Ballingarry Gund Club, horse racing, and was also a very talented actor with the very successful Granagh Players Drama Group.
His death is sincerely regretted by all in Granagh-Ballingarry GAA club. To his brother Derry, sisters Kay, Marie and Betty, brothers-in-law Mike, John and Conor, sisters-in-law Sheila, Philomena, nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends.
The Requiem Mass was celebrated in St. Joseph’s Church, Granagh on Sunday and he was laid to rest in Granagh cemetery. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
€8,400 Jackpot on Saturday:
There was no winner of the €8,300 jackpot in the lottery draw on Saturday 11th January. The numbers drawn were 2, 11, 17 and 21. The lucky dips of €20 each went to Mary Burke, promoter online; Roisin Kennedy, promoter Denny As Bar, Ballingarry; Gerard Reidy, promoter Pat Cagney, Paul McCarthy, promoter Donagh McCarthy.
The next draw will be held on Saturday 18th January in McAuliffe’s Bar, Ballingarry for a jackpot of €8,400. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5 and are on sale in local bars and from promoters.
