Granagh/Ballingarry GAA Club Notes:
County U21B Football Championship Opener on Saturday:
Ballingarry is the venue on this Saturday 9th November at 2pm for the meeting of the home side Granagh-Ballingarry-Croom and Ballybricken-Bohermore in round 1 of group 3 in the inaugural Limerick County U21B Football Championship.
The championship is being run on an all county basis and 12 teams have indicated that they will take part. There are three groups of four with the top teams in each group to qualify for the County semi-finals with a play-off for the remaining place 2nd team in group 1 v 2nd team in group 2, winner takes on 2nd team in group 3 for semi-final place.
Group 1: Ballybrown, Belville Gaels, Hospital-Herbertstown, Belville Gaels.
Group 2: Cappamore, Pallasgreen, Hospital-Herbertstown, Galtee Gaels.
Group 3: St. Patrick’s, Claughaun, Ballybricken-Bohermore, Granagh-Ballingarry-Croom.

County U-21 B Football Championship Group 1:
Saturday 9th November: Round 1Granagh-Ballingarry-Croom v Ballybricken-Bohermore in Ballingarry at 2pm.
Saturday 16th November: Round 2 St. Patrick’s v Granagh-Ballingarry-Croom in Rhebogue at 2pm.
Saturday 23rd November: Round 3 Granagh-Ballingarry-Croom v Claughaun in Ballingarry at 2pm.
Croom-Granagh-Ballingarry U-20 hurlers through to County B semi-final:
Croom-Granagh-Ballingarry have defeated Templeglantine, Dromcollogher-Broadford and received a walkover for Ballybricken-Bohermore-Fedamore to finish top of group 3 in the County U-20 B Hurling Championship to qualify for the semi-final against opponents to be confirmed in a couple of weeks time.
Four County Football Championship titles go West:
Gaelic Games in the West Division received another great boost over the weekend with four West Limerick clubs winning adult County Football Championship titles.
Hearty congratulations to our neighbours Cappagh on their impressive six point, 1-8 to 0-5 victory over gallant Athea to claim their first County Minor Junior A Football Championship at Askeaton on Saturday to add to the County Intermediate Hurling Championship title win the previous Saturday by the sister club Croagh-Kilfinny.
To Adare who claimed their richly-deserved County Senior Football Championship title with a hard fought five point, 1-10 to 0-8 victory over Fr. Caseys at Mick Neville Park on Saturday.
To Rathkeale who gained senior football status for 2025 with a deserved four point, 0-11 to 0-7 victory over Galbally to claim their second County Intermediate Football Championship, a first since 2013 at Paddy Carroll Park, Ballyagran on Sunday.
To St. Kierans who captured their first ever County Junior B Football Championship title and the Jim (Twin) Lynch Memorial Cup with an impressive 1-18 to 0-6 win over Mungret-St. Paul’s at Ring Olivia at 2pm?
Six in-a-row Munster Champions Limerick honoured with four 2024 Hurling All Stars:
Six in-a-row Munster Senior Hurling champions Limerick were honoured with four players Nickie Quaid, Effin, Dan Morrissey, Ahane, Kyle Hayes, Kildimo/Pallaskenry and Gearóid Hegarty (St. Patrick’s) on the PWC All Stars hurling team 2024. The announcement was made as part of a special programme to honour both the 2024 hurling and football all stars shown on RTE on Friday night.

All-Star Football Team 2024:
The PWC All-Stars teams were chosen by a penal of Gaelic Games correspondents from across print radio, tv and digital media. The overall Player of the Year awards are picked by the inter-county players directly. The GAA All Stars awards date back to 1971 and were initiated by the Gaelic Games media-led by the late Mick Dunne from RTE.
November County Club Draw:
The next Limerick County GAA Club’s draw is on Saturday 30th November with a top prize of €10,000. There are a host of other prizes to be won, 2nd €3,000, 3rd €2,000, 4th €1000, 5th executive star prize 6th to 9th €500. There will again be exclusive monthly prizes to be won, Granagh/Ballingarry had 165 members in the eight draw in October and three winners to date: Lima Carroll won €200 in April, Patsy Quinn won €300 in June and Elizabeth Cregan won €3,000 in July.

Official Limerick GAA 2025 Calendar:
The official Limerick GAA 2025 Calendar was launched recently by Limerick Senior Hurling Manager John Kiely. The calendar includes photos of Limerick’s twelve All Ireland Senior Hurling Championship winning teams – 1897, 1918, 1921, 1934, 1936, 1940, 1973, 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023. The profits from this calendar, which costs €12.50, will go to the Limerick team’s training fund. It would make an ideal present for a family member or friend and is available in O’Grady’s Spar, Ballingarry; Broderick’s Spar, Croom; Tadhg O’Connor’s Hardware, Newcastle West; McDermott’s Shop, Patrickswell; Ryan’s SuperValu, Kilmallock; Shannon Stores, Castleconnell and Gleeson’s Sportscene online store, Upper William Street, Limerick.

€7,400 Jackpot on Saturday:
There was no winner of the 7,300 jackpot in the Granagh/Ballingarry GAA club lottery draw on Saturday 2nd November in the Rock Bar, Granagh. The lucky dips of €20 each went to Mary Burke promoter online, Ciara and Meabh Tierney promoter O’Grady’s Spar Shop, Ballingarry, Jesse Stapleton promoter Stephen Stapleton, John and Joan O’Grady promoter Niall McCarthy. The next draw will be held on Saturday 9th November in Dinny As Bar, Ballingarry for a jackpot of €3,400. Tickets are 2 each or three for 5 and are on sale in local shops, bars and from promoters.
