First Meeting of 2024 Tomorrow Night:
Granagh/Ballingarry GAA Club will hold their first special general meeting of 2024 in the clubhouse, Ballingarry tomorrow Thursday 18th January at 8pm sharp. All club members particularly team managers and players are asked to attend. This is an important meeting as a lot of business will be dealt with on the night to help with the running of the club for 2024.

Hearty congratulations to our own Eoin Horgan wearing the No. 10 jersey with 0-1 from open play and all involved with the Charleville CBS U19 hurling side who defeated a fancied Midleton CBS in the quarter final of the Munster Colleges U18A Hurling (Dr. Harty Cup) at Mallow on Wednesday 10th January to qualify for a semi final meeting with Neenagh CBS.
The teams were level at the interval Charleville CBS 1-7, Midleton CBS 0-11 with the North Cork school goal coming from the stick of their towering full forward Liam O’Mahony in the 7th minute. The Charleville boys dominated the second half as they added 0-11 to their total to 2-1 for Midleton with their two goals coming in the 58th and 62nd minutes from No. 12 Barry Walsh which was too little too late for the east Cork school side. At the final whistle Charleville CBS were worthy 6-point 1-20 to 2-11 winners to qualify for their second final, a first since 2011 when going under to Ardscoil Rís 3-19 to 0-3 against Nenagh CBS impressive 2-16 to 0-6 quarter final winners over Christian Brothers College, Cork.

Congratulations to our own Luke Flynn who got his first taste of senior inter-county action when he came off the bench on 47 minutes and made an immediate impact when he finished past Clare keeper Eamonn Fouhy on 65 minutes in All Ireland hurling champions. Limerick’s 2-21 to 1-19 victory over Clare in Round 2 of Group A in the Munster Senior Hurling League at Clarecastle on Wednesday 10th September. The Limerick boys led by 3, 1-10 to 0-10 at the interval courtesy of a Cathal O’Neill superb goal.
Limerick now play cork in their refixed Round 1 tie tonight , Wednesday 17th January in Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale at 7pm for a place in the final of the competition against Waterford on Sunday 21st January.

Regrading:
Any Granagh/Ballingarry player wishing to be regraded from intermediate to Junior B Hurling for 2024 should contact club secretary John Lynch as soon as possible as forms must be returned to the county secretary before the end of January.
Club Membership 2024:
Granagh Ballingarry GAA Club membership fees for 2024 are fixed at €100 to include membership of club draw. Bord nan Óg players €40 (€90 maximum for two or more players). No family membership. Players to register online to pay fees through Foireann at gaa.ie as per official guide.
2024 Club Draw/Lottery:
The new Granagh Ballingarry GAA 2024 club draw will be held quarterly with €2,000 in prizes. 1st €1,000 and ten prizes of €100 with the option to join the club weekly lottery and draw for €150 and clubdraw/lottery/county club draw for €200. If you wish to renew your membership, please contact your promoter on or before Sunday 31st Mach with your fees.
2024 County GAA Club Draw:
Granagh Ballingarry GAA Club are once more promoting the Limerick County Club Draw. There will be monthly draws from March to December with a top prize of €10,000. There are a host of other prizes to be won. 2nd €3,000, 3rd €2,000, 4th €1,000, 5th exclusive star prize, 6th to 9th €500, 10th to 13th €250, 14th to 30th €100. There will again be exclusive monthly prizes to be won. Granagh Ballingarry had had 117 members in the November draw and three winners to date – Claire Herlihy €3,000 in August, Niamh O’Keeffe, Brian Burke €300 each in September and Joanne Kelly €200 in December. 2024 GAA National Club Draw:
Granagh Ballingarry GAA Club are promoting the 2024 National Club Draw. There is no financial cost to the club to get involved as all costs of tickets and prizes are covered by central council. In addition to maintaining the proceeds for all tickets sold by the club, any club who sells a minimum of 200 tickets automatically gets into a draw to win €1,000.
Main Draw

Club Specific Draw
A draw will take place whereby 3 clubs will receive €5,000. Another draw will take place whereby 1 club in each county will receive €1,000. The club with the highest ticket sales in each province will receive €1,000. To qualify for these draws a club must abide by the following terms and conditions: Sell a minimum of 200 tickets Record all sold tickets on the online ticketing system. Account for all funds raised through the draw separately in the club accounts. Adhere to all terms and conditions of the draw which are outlined on the back of the tickets. €10 per ticket.
Prizes Include
1st All new Dacia Sandero car, 2nd €10,000 cash prize, 3rd and 4th All Ireland hurling and football final package 2024. The complete package for 2 includes premium tickets for the All-Ireland Hurling and Football final, overnight accommodation in the Croke Park Hotel on both weekends and dinner for two included. 5th to 7th prize: All Ireland Football Final including overnight accommodation for two nights (Saturday and Sunday) in the Croke Park Hotel and dinner for two on the Saturday evening. 8th to 10th prize: All-Ireland Football Final including overnight accommodation for two nights (Saturday and Sunday) in the Croke Park Hotel and dinner for two on the Saturday evening.

Presentation Dinner Dance:
All roads will lead to the Longcourt Hotel, Newcastle West on Friday March 1st for a night of nostalgic celebration at the Granagh-Ballingarry GAA Club 2023 Intermediate and Junior B Hurling medal presentation function. Music will be provided by Free Bees followed by a disco. More details in the coming weeks.

Granagh Players Present the Hucklebuck:
The Granagh Players present ‘The Hucklebuck’ by Jack Reardon in the Community Centre, Granagh V35 C584 at 8pm nightly, Friday, Saturday, Sunday 26th, 27th, 28th January and Friday, Saturday, Sunday 2nd,3rd, 4th February. Dillon Quirke Foundation Game:
All Ireland hurling champions Limerick will entertain Tipperary in a senior hurling challenge game on Sunday 28th January at 2pm in Semple Stadium, Thurles. Proceeds from the game will be donated to the Dillon Quirke Foundation.
€3,200 Jackpot on Saturday:
There was no winners of the €3,100 jackpot in the Granagh Ballingarry GAA Club lottery on Saturday 13th January in the Rock Bar, Granagh. The numbers drawn were 11, 15, 18 and 25. The lucky dips of €20 each went to Donal O’Brien, promoter online; Roy Twomey, promoter Rock Bar; Stephanie and Harry Sheehy, promoter Mike Healy; Stephen Roche, promoter Donal Mulcahy. The next draw for a jackpot of €3,200 will be held on Saturday 20th January in Dinny A’s Bar, Ballingarry. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5 and are on sale in local shops, bars and from promoters.
