Kieran Flaherty took charge of this County Junior A football championship semi-final played in heavy underfoot conditions in front of a good crowd, who gave great support to their sides.

Then the game turned nicely in favour of the Granagh/Ballingarry boys when David Condron collected from an Aaron Smith placed ball and finished past Hospital/Herbertstown keeper Aaron Murphy to leave the boys from Knockfierna five ahead 1-11 to 0-9 at the end of the third quarter. A couple of wides were exchanged before Granagh/Ballingarry captain Cathal O’Keeffe extended his side’s advantage to six when he split the uprights following a good solo run on 50 minutes. Both sides were guilty of inaccurate shooting in the difficult windy conditions in the next five minutes before a pair of white flags from placed balls by Aaron Smith on 56 and 58 minutes to extend the 2021 Junior B champions’ advantage to eight, 1-14 to 0-9 with two minutes of normal time remaining. Conor O’Grady won a point back for Hospital/Herbertstown on 59 minutes before the Granagh/Ballingarry boys finished strong with a pair of white flags, courtesy of Aaron Smith from a placed ball and Jack Cagney from open play in added time.
