Glenroe confirm Premier Intermediate Semi Final after stunning second half performance
Glenroe 2-13 Dromin-Athlacca 1-9
Glenroe produced a stunning second half performance to beat Dromin-Athlacca on the 19th of September in Kilfinane. Dromin-Athlacca produced a quick start taking an early lead thanks to a goal a couple of minutes into the game. Some frees kept Glenroe close with the scores Dromin- Athlacca 1-05 Glenroe 0-04 going into the first water break. Glenroe continued to struggle to get into the game with Dromin- Athlacca extending their lead by a point with the lead going to 1-08 to 0-06 points. Glenroe were strugging to get scores from play with one coming from play in the first half. This changed in the second half as Glenroe were a different team in the second half Glenroe were pulling back the opposition with lead being reduced to 3 points until the big turning point in the game when Eoin Walsh was taken down in the penalty area, Mark O’Connell stepped up and made no mistake cooling placing it in the bottom corner. The teams were level and Glenroe followed with two points to take the lead going into the last quarter of the game with the scores Glenroe 1-11 to Dromin-Athlacca 1-09. Glenroe were in the ascendancy now and looked to close out the game and they did this in style scoring 1-2 without reply in the last quarter including a great goal by Diarmuid McCarthy. A super second half performance sets up a county semi-final against Mungret in Kilmallock the 2nd of October at 4pm.

Glenroe 1-14 Camogue Rovers 0-23
Glenroe just fell short against Camogue Rovers in their second round of Championship in Camougue the 16th of September. Glenroe kept fighting for the whole game and struggled in the first half to deal with the strong wind against them they trailed 0-13 to 0-5 at half time. They staged a fantastic comeback in the third quarter bring the lead down to two points but however the huge effort put in the third quarter led to Glenroe tiring out in the last quarter leading to Camogue pulling away at the end.
