FIELD DEVELOPMENT PLANS
Glenroe GAA Development Project
New AstroTurf for Glenroe GAA
We have received an amazing €143,000 from Sports Capital and a further €70,000 from Tomar Trust to get our Project underway. We must now commence a massive fundraising campaign to raise in excess of €100,000. A number of events will be organised in 2022/2023 to ensure we reach our target. To commence our fundraising activities We are asking you to consider sponsoring a square of AstroTurf at a cost of €250. This square of AstroTurf can be sponsored by an individual or a family. We also ask that if you do wish to support our campaign that you do so through the Tax Relief Scheme. All what this will imply for you is the filling out of a form but the financial gains for our development project will be huge. Should you require any further information or have any questions and/or queries do not hesitate to contact a member of our Fundraising Committee (contact details attached). Forms for Tax Relief Scheme available from the club or any member of the fundraising committee. These forms were also distributed at our Launch Night in the Firgrove on Saturday last April 30th. You can also donate online through Swoofee on the Glenroe Social Media Pages.

Congratulations and Well Done to all our U.15 Players as well as all involved with their training and management.
It was fantastic to see them partake in the National Féile on Saturday the 28th of May in Templemore. They managed to make it to the Shield Final and were unfortunately beaten by 1 point.
Great credit due to them all for their commitment, dedication, perseverance and hard work. We are all so proud of your achievements and can’t wait to see what will be next
Glenroe Junior B’s secure final place with a hard fought victory over Effin
Glenroe Junior B’s secured a place in the final of the league with close encounter in Kilbreedy on Monday night 30th of May. Glenroe had a quick start to the game with a goal from Maurice O’ Brien to give them a great start but Effin did not go away easy with some impressive scores. The game was extreamly close until another big moment with a smart finish again from Maurice O’ Brien midway through the first half. This along with a few well taken frees from Shaun Moloney and Bob Frewen led to Glenroe taking a goal lead into the second half. Scoreline Glenroe 2-3 to Effin 0-6. Effin used the wind to their advantage in the second half and got the first five points in the second half without response to take a two point lead. Glenroe needed something to get back into the game, it came in the form of a long shot from Bob Frewen that found its way into the back of the net to give Glenroe a one point lead. Effin scored two points to level the game after a Maurice O’ Brien point. This lead to a tense finish, one score was going to vital and the person to provide this was Jonathan Tallon with a vital score. Effin had a few free chances to level the game but failed in the end. Glenroe Premier Intermediates just fall short to Bruff in the Semi-Finals
Glenroe played Bruff in the semi finals of the league in Knocklong on Sunday the 29th of May.
