PREMIER INTERMEDIATES WIN ON THEIR FIRST DAY OUT OF THE LEAGUE

Glenroe 1-22 Knockainey 1-18

A great start to the league for the Premier Intermediate team for Glenroe and their new management team. It was a very competitive game with Knockainey the teams were locked at half time Glenroe 1-8 to Knockainey 0-11. Some accurate free taking from Mark O’Connell along with a few more scores left Glenroe in a good position at the half time break. Glenroe pushed on in the second half and kept taking their scoring chances knocking over 14 points in the second half to take them over the line. An excellent start to the league with some super performances from Mark O’Connell, Brian O’Connell, Shaun Moloney, Eoin Walsh and Liam Dennehy who was playing his first competitive game at this age. The management get off to a winning start and will hope to continue this next time out

JUNIOR B OFF TO A WINNING START

Glenroe 5-23 Effin 1-15

Glenroe had a fantastic start to their Junior B league campaign with a convincing win against Effin. Glenroe started quick and gained control of the game resulting in a commanding lead at the start of the game. They kept up this pressure leading to a 14 point lead at half time due to an excellent team performance. Glenroe 4-11 to Effin 1-6. There was a few changes made in the second half but this did not change the efficient way that Glenroe played

putting up an impressive 1-12 in the second half with some excellent individual and team scores along with accurate free taking. Glenroe ran out the eventual winners by a score line 5-23 to 1-15.

Knockainey 1-4 Glenroe 3-9

The Glenroe Junior B Team continued with a good win away from home on Sunday against Knockainey in Knockainey. Glenroe took a commanding lead in the first half in a low scoring affair, leading 1-7 to 0-3 at half time with Oisin Browne scoring an impressive 0-4 of them. They continued this in the second half out scoring Knockainey by 2-2 to 1-1 with Mossy O’Brien getting a few goals to seal the result.
