Limerick’s Win Against Wicklow
Congratulations to the Limerick footballers who had a fantastic win against Wicklow in Aughrim last Saturday. Donal O’Sullivan (goalkeeper) captained Limerick. Limerick started in the lead. In the 19th minute, our Gerald Griffin’s player Tommy Griffin scored a point; just before Wicklow scored a goal making it a level game. Two points were scored just before the break, one by Robbie Burke and the other by Hugh Bourke. At half time, the score was 1-06 to 0-11, with Limerick in the lead. 62 minutes in, Danny Neville scored a goal for Limerick, which left Limerick in the lead by 6 points. Hugh Bourke scored another goal for Limerick, just a few minutes after. Our Gerald Griffin’s player Gerard Stack came on towards the end and scored a point within minutes of coming on. The final score of the game was 2-19 to 1-12. It was great to see our Gerald Griffin’s players on the field, Tommy Griffin as left wing foward and Gerard Stack, who came on as corner forward for Danny Neville. Well done to you both.

Mothers & Others
We are delighted to see our mothers and others back again for the new season. Training will take place every Thursday at 8 p.m. sharp. Everyone is welcome, we are looking forward to seeing both old and new faces. Remember, no football experience is necessary and anyone is welcome to join. Abha Bhán Parish Park Raffle
Please support our local Abha Bhán park in their upcoming raffle. There are some great prizes on offer. The raffle will take place on Sunday 27th June. Lines cost 10 euro and can be bought from any committee member or online at their gofundme page. Check out their facebook page for more details.
Ireland’s Fittest Family 2021
Applications are now open for Ireland’s Fittest Family 2021. Several Limerick families have entered over the years, with the Lawlor’s coming in 6th place in 2018. Could you be the first Limerick family to take home the title? If you think you have what it takes to be crowned Ireland’s Fittest Family and win €15,000, you can sign up at the following link:

Schools Nominations and Awards
We would like to congratulate Zach Behan who was nominated for soccer player of the year. Zach from Loughill, plays football with Gerald Griffins and Shannon Gael’s, son of Seán and Rhoda Behan, Seán a great ambassador of Gerald Griffin’s both as a player and coach.
Elijah Behan got nominated for mentor of the year and was awarded LCA Student of the Year. Elijah played underage with Gerald Griffins and Shannon Gaels. His parents Norette (former Secretary) and Liam have always been great ambassadors of Gerald Griffin’s Club.
Congratulations to Megan Fitzagerald who completed the Silver Gaisce President’s Award. Megan plays with the Gerald Griffins Ladies Football team, daughter of Wayne and Gráinne Fitzgerald. Wayne, former Secretary of Gerald Griffins, instrumental in the development of our Club and now pivotal with the Limerick Football Board.
