Galbally beat Mountcollins by 3-15 to 2-5 at Galbally GAA Grounds on Saturday last in an important County League game in the context of preparation for the upcoming County Senior Football Championship. The team was Kevin Denihan, Roibeard Donovan, Tony Henebry, Michael O’Dwyer, Nathan O’Byrne, John Kearns (0-1), Cathal Shanahan, Ger Quinlan, James Cummins (0-3), Jamie Morrissey (1-0), Mark Quinlan (0-2), Jacko Mullane, Gary McCarthy, Kieran Hickey (0-7), Jack Donovan (2-0). Galbally GAA would like reminder everyone that club membership is now due. Limerick face Waterford in the League Final on Sunday next and best wishes to John Kiely and Kieran Hickey in that game. However another game of significance involving Limerick and Waterford will take place at Walsh Park on Sunday 2nd June at 2pm. Tickets for this game will only be available through GAA clubs due to the limited capacity. To be eligible to apply for tickets for this game, you will need to be a paid up member by 31st March 2019. Any club officer will accept the membership. Membership for 2019 is as follows: Couples €50, Adults €30, Student €20, One Juvenile €15, Two or more Juveniles €25. Limerick GAA Development draw membership is also due. This has been kind to us in recent years with a number of 5-figure-sum winners in recent years. Please contact your promoter to make arrangements. Any new members can contact Fiona Kiely who is acting as interim draw co-ordinator.
The Con and Annie Kirby stake commences last Thursday night with the Galbally GAA nominated dog ‘Argentina’ qualifying for the next round at Limerick Greyhound Stadium. Please go along to support the Galbally nominated dog. This is a competition that has been kind to us in the past and we sincerely thank JP and Noreen McManus for their generosity in supporting the event. The latest Split the Pot winner was Michelle and Mary Doyle who was the lucky winner of €429. Next Draw in Joe’s Abbey Bar on Saturday night next 30th March. We would sincerely like to thank all the local people for supporting this venture.
