Fundraiser in aid of Milford Hospice and Galbally GAA development!
This weekend is going to be a great weekend of activity in Galbally.
It begins on Saturday evening with a fun 5km walk for all the family leaving from the community centre at the earlier time of 6.30pm. Refreshments will be offered in the community centre afterwards. All donations towards the fundraiser will be welcome on the evening.
On Saturday night Music with Ger will kick off at 10pm in O’ Connells. Entry fee is €5 per person. It promises to be a great night of craic agus ceoil.
Sunday morning will begin with a 20km charity cycle leaving at 10am. Entry fee is €10 with registration in the GAA clubhouse from 9:30am
This will be followed with a Truck, Tractor and Vintage Car run at 12pm. Entry fee is €20. Registration is at the GAA grounds from 11am. Children are more than welcome to bring their tractors along on the morning and join in on the fun before take off.
At 1pm there will be a dog show in the GAA field. Entry fee is €5 per category or
€10 for 3 categories.
This will be followed with drive in Bingo in the GAA field at 3pm with lots of cash prizes to be won.
A special appearance from Mick Mackey and Liam McCarthy is also in store!
A jam packed weekend with something for everyone to enjoy!!

Senior Football Championship
Unfortunately Galbally lost out to Fr Caseys in Round 4 of the Senior football Championship last Thursday evening in Mick Neville Park, Rathkeale. The lads put in a great effort but fell short with a final scoreline 0-12 to 0-08. The panel was: Peter Morrissey, Cathal O Mahony, Peter O Dwyer Cathal Flynn, Cathal Shanahan, Liam Casey, Jacko Mullane, Dylan O Shea, James Ryan, Rob Sampson, Paddy Kennedy, Ciaran Sheehan, Gary McCarthy, Ger Quinlan, Eoin O Mahony. Subs: Kieran Hickey, Eoin McGrath, Brian Heavey
South Junior B Football Championship
Round 4
Castletown Ballyagran V Galbally will be played next Saturday evening, September 3rd at 6pm in Ballyagran.
Bord na n-Óg
Under 17’s
The under 17 football team will play Round 6 of the championship on Wednesday next, September 7th. The boys will play Na Piarsaigh in Caherdavin with a throw in scheduled for 6.30pm.
Under 15’s
The under 15’s will play the next round of the championship this Monday, September 5th against Ballybricken-Bohermore/Fedamore. Throw in is at 7pm in Balllybricken.
Under 7’s
The U7s took part in a football blitz in Hospital last Saturday morning. They played 3 games against Oola, Ballylanders and Bruree. They are a great bunch of players who are really improving as the year goes on.

Congratulations to Declan Heavey and Hugh Flanagan who won the u16 All Ireland tournament with the Limerick A hurling team in Wexford last Saturday afternoon.
Congratulations also to Jamie O’ Shea who was playing with the Limerick under 14 hurlers on Saturday afternoon. They won the shield in the Forrestal tournament in Dublin. They beat Clare in the final.
