Limerick Footballers
The Limerick Footballers kick start their 2022 season this Wednesday evening, January 5th when they travel to Tralee to take on Kerry in the opening round of the McGrath cup with a 7pm throw in. Adrian Enright continues to impress on the county stage and has been selected at midfield for this game. This year he will be joined at county level by fellow clubman Rory O’Brien in his debut Senior year. On Sunday January 9th, Limerick take on Tipperary in Mick Neville Park in round two of the McGrath Cup and then on Saturday January 29th Limerick begin their National League campaign with a home tie in the Gaelic Grounds against Longford. Best of luck to all involved and hopefully a successful season awaits.
Dee Harnett 5K
Many thanks to everyone who participated and donated to the Dee Harnett 5K over the Christmas period. To date the online Go-Fund-Me page has raised an amazing €3,420 which exceeds all expectations. The Harnett family along with Fr. Casey’s GAA and Abbeyfeale Utd are extremely grateful for your generosity with all funds raised going to the Mid-Western Cancer Foundation.
For the 5K quickest time we had a very strong competition with seasoned runner Martin Lyons winning the overall prize with a very impressive time of 19:17 ahead of Sean Harnett with 20:30 and Adrian Enright with 20:50. The winner of the U18 Boys race was Michael Kilbridge with a time of 21:07, Caoimhe McGrath won the Ladies race with a time of 21:14 while Alana McGrath won the U18 Girls race also with a time of 21:14.
