From Tuesday June 8th action returns with the adult leagues this year being ran on a divisional basis. Our Senior team will face Rathkeale, Ballysteen, Drom/Baordford and Adare over a 4 week period with a mixture of home and away games. Our Junior footballers have entered the West Intermediate league and will see familiar faces in Athea, Newcastle West, Glin and Cappagh. Fixtures have also been announced for the U17 football championship, formerly the Minor championship. Action for our U17s begin on June 30th with games every fortnight until August. In their group Fr. Caseys will meet Mungret, Galbally, Monaleen, Kildimo/Pallaskenry and Newcastle West. The full list of fixtures is now uploaded to our club website and please note that all of these fixtures are subject to change. Please check out club website or Facebook page closer to the date of the game for the latest updates.
The most important fixture in the month of June however will be the rescheduled 2020 Minor County Final between Fr. Caseys and Newcastle West. This promises to be a cracking game and it takes place on Friday June 25th in Tournafulla at 7pm. Fr. Caseys will be bidding for their third county title in a row but face a very strong Newcastle West team.
Club Limerick Draw The third Club Limerick Draw of the year took place last Saturday May 29th. Well done to Brendan Connery from Kilmallock who claimed the €10,000 jackpot prize and Eimear O’Malley from St. Senans who claimed the Exclusive Star Prize. Unfortunately there were no local winners in this months draw. The next draw will take place on Saturday June 26th with another €10,000 jackpot up for grabs plus an Exclusive Star Prize of a LG 75″ UHD Smart TV.
Our club is extremely thankful to all club members who support this draw. With 50% of the entrant fee returned to local club, the Club Limerick Draw provides us with vital funds to maintain and develop our club. Those still wishing to join for next month’s draw can register via the new Club Limerick website @ www.clublimerick.ie.
Well Done Limerick Well done to the Limerick Footballers who produced a brilliant performance last Saturday defeating Wicklow by 2-19 to 1-12 away in Aughrim. That win puts Limerick in second place in Division 3 South and qualifies them for the promotion semi-final with Derry on the weekend of June 12th. Limerick are now just one win away from promotion to Division 2 which would be a remarkable feat. We wish all involved especially the Fr. Caseys players Adrian Enright and Cormac Roche the very best of luck in the coming weeks.
