FR CASEY’S GAA CLUB NOTES
Club Limerick Draw The first Club Limerick Draw of the new term took place last Saturday March 27th. Well done to Justin and Christina McGinn from Na Piarsaigh who claimed the €10,000 jackpot prize and Brian Toomey from Ballybrown who claimed the Exclusive Star Prize. Unfortunately there were no local winners in this months draw. The next draw will take place on Saturday April 24th, this will be the second of the ten monthly draws.
Our club is extremely thankful to all club members who have supported the draw in the past year. With 50% of the entrant fee returned to local club, the Club Limerick Draw provides us with vital funds to maintain and develop our club. Those wishing to join for the coming year can contact our local co-ordinator Liam O’Connor or visit the related website @ limerickgaa.ie/club-limerick-draw.
Con & Annie Kirby Memorial
The opening round of the Con & Annie Kirby Memorial Stake took place last Saturday night in the Limerick Greyhound Stadium. Rural Star trained by Graham Holland is the nominated greyhound for Fr. Caseys this year and he made a great start to the competition, coming home in third place in what later proved to be the quickest heat of the night. Rural Star now qualifies for round 2 and has been drawn in Trap 2 in Heat 8 next Saturday night. Updates on his progress can be followed on our club social media accounts and also via the Limerick Greyhound Stadium Twitter account with an option to watch from home via Talking Dogs TV also detailed there. Sponsored by JP McManus & family, this annual event is welcomed by all Limerick clubs with a €20,000 prize-fund on offer including €10,000 for the winning club.
