Fr Caseys GAA Club Notes:

Upcoming Fixtures:

County Junior A Championship

County Minor Championship: Fr. Caseys 0-12 Oola 1-12:
Fr. Caseys minor footballers suffered a narrow defeat last Wednesday evening away to Oola. After a hard fought draw against a strong Monaleen side in round one, Fr. Caseys were keen to get points on the board against an Oola side that suffered defeat to Mungret in round one. Unfortunately the old saying, goals win games was evident and the one green flag raised in favour of the home side would decide the outcome. With four more league games remaining, Fr. Caseys have plenty of opportunities to resurrect their season but despite starting without some key players due to holidays and injury this result will be seen as a setback.

Limerick Footballers:
Even though they came up just short last Saturday in Croke Park, the Limerick Senior Footballers gave a heroic display against Kildare in the Tailteann Cup Final losing by just two points in the end. It was a fantastic game to watch with Mark McCarthy once more starring at corner back. Rory O’Brien introduced in the final quarter also added new energy to the attack, claiming the last score of the game which was unfortunately deflected over instead of under the crossbar. Fr. Caseys were also proud to have Fiachra Cotter and Diarmuid Buckley involved with this team, the former who has been recently side-lined with injury. It has been a very positive year for Limerick Football with promotion to Division 3 also secured and hopefully this season will be the start of a resurrection for our county team.

Club Championship:
The 2025 Limerick Club Football Championship kicks off this weekend with the tie of the round being the repeat of the County Final between Fr. Caseys and Adare. That game takes place at 4pm Saturday in Newcastle West. The Abbeyfeale men will be anxious to gain revenge and start the new campaign on a winning note
On Sunday evening at 7pm in Tournafulla our Junior A Footballers begin their campaign with a local derby against Mountcollins. Last year the spoils were shared in this fixture and another close encounter is expected on Sunday. Best of luck to all teams involved
