West Football League Final
Fr. Caseys 5-07 Newcastle West 7-04 (after ET & Penalties)
Fr. Caseys Senior Footballers made the short journey to Athea last Saturday to take on county champions Newcastle West in the West League Final. The team were quietly confident of an upset after a perfect league campaign with five victories from five games that included a 2-05 to 0-06 victory over Newcastle West. The first half was an extremely tight affair with Fr. Caseys raising two white flags while Newcastle West failed to score. In the second half Fr. Caseys added another three points while Newcastle West had to convert a penalty in the final quarter to give themselves a lifeline in a game where Fr. Caseys looked in command for long periods. At the final whistle the game was tied at 0-05 to 1-02 with extra time now being required. Fr. Caseys regained the lead with the only point of the first period. In the second period Newcastle West registered two points to one from the Abbeyfeale men to leave the scores level once more at 0-07 to 1-04 with penalties now required. Unfortunately in the penalty shootout Newcastle West emerged victorious, converting six spot kicks while Fr. Caseys only converted five. Despite the defeat our Seniors still progress to the county semi-final on June 7th where they will play Mungret. In the other semi-final Newacastle West with face Oola
Munster Hurling Final:
Club members looking for tickets for the upcoming Munster Hurling Final between Limerick and Clare on June 9th in Thurles are requested to email our club secretary at secretary.frcaseys.limerick@gaa.ie by this Thursday. Please note that demand is likely to exceed allocation, so a draw for tickets will occur. Members can only request a maximum of two tickets each.
Club Limerick Draw Results:
The third Club Limerick Draw of the year took place last Saturday May 25th. Well done to Christy Enright, Tournafulla who claimed the €10,000 jackpot prize. Unfortunately we had no club winner in this month’s draw. The next draw takes place on Saturday June 29th
There is still plenty of time to enter the remaining draws with some fantastic prizes on offer, a top cash prize of €10,000 each month, a star prize and 28 other cash prizes ranging from €3,000 to a minimum €100. Club Lotto Results – May 21st:
Fr. Casey’s Club Lotto continued on Tuesday May 21st with a Jackpot of €18,200 up for grabs. The numbers drawn were 5, 22, 23 with the bonus ball 3. There was one Match 2 plus Bonus winner this week claiming €100. The draw continues next Tuesday with the Jackpot rising to €18,400.
