Limerick GAA:
Well done to our County U20 Footballers under the guidance of Shane Kelly who captured the Munster B Football Title last Wednesday night with a 2-10 to 1-05 victory over Waterford in Mallow. Well done also to our club players Ronan Quirke, Michael Kilbridge, Dylan O’Connor, Oisin Woulfe & Marc Nolan involved in this team. They now progress to the All-Ireland semi-final stage next month
Despite leading at half time our County Minor Footballers suffered a six point defeat to Clare in Ballygran last Tuesday evening. They will now play Waterford in Lemybrien this Tuesday in their final round robin game. Best of luck to Danny McCarthy, Leon Curtin, Evan O’Connor and Aaron O’Kelly who represent us on this team and to Gerard O’Connor, Daniel Daly and Donagh Kelly involved in the management team.
Our County Minor hurlers also suffered defeat last Thursday night losing by six points away to Cork in their opening Munster championship game. They will now face Clare in Sixmilebridge this Thursday in a must win game. Best of luck to Liam O’Connor who lined out in midfield for this team.
Finally our County Senior Hurlers begin the defence of their All-Ireland Title and the drive for five this Sunday in Cusack Park Ennis against the newly crowned league champions Clare. This promises to be a classic encounter with a 2pm throw in time. We wish John Kiely and his charges the very best of luck in the campaign. We have been living the dream in recent years and this team definitely owes us nothing but hopefully there is one more title in them to help rewrite the history books
