Fr Caseys GAA Club Notes:

Upcoming Fixtures:
Junior Football League
Fr. Caseys Vs Banogue – Saturday April 13th in Abbeyfeale at 7.00pm

Limerick GAA:
There was no joy for the Limerick Senior Footballers last Sunday in Páirc Uí Chaoimh against Cork in the opening round of the Munster Championship. Having lead by a point at half time, the concession of three second half goals killed the chances of an upset and the final score of 3-13 to 0-11 in favour of Cork did little justice for their efforts. Limerick now enter the Tailteann Cup with the first round games beginning on May 11th
On Tuesday evening April 9th the Limerick Minor Footballers will face Clare in Ballygran at 6.15pm in round two of the Munster Championship. The team will be keen to get points on the board having lost 2-13 to 0-10 away to a strong Tipperary side last week. Only a point separated the teams at half time but a strong third quarter from Tipperary ended the contest. Best of luck to Danny McCarthy, Leon Curtin, Evan O’Connor and Aaron O’Kelly who represent us on this team and to Gerard O’Connor, Daniel Daly and Donagh Kelly involved in the management team.
This Wednesday evening April 10th the Limerick U20 Footballers will conclude their championship campaign when they take on Waterford in Mallow at 7pm in the Munster B Final. Despite collecting a win and a draw in the round robin series, Limerick narrowly missed out on a Munster Semi-Final spot. Well done to Ronan Quirke, Michael Kilbridge, Dylan O’Connor, Oisin Woulfe & Marc Nolan for their efforts to date.
On Thursday April 11th the Limerick Minor Hurlers open their Munster campaign against Cork in Páirc Uí Chaoimh at 7pm. We are delighted to see Liam O’Connor involved in this team and wish him and the team the very best of luck in what should be an exciting Munster series

Con & Annie Kirby:
The quarter finals of the Con & Annie Kirby Memorial Stakes took place last Saturday night in the Limerick Greyhound Stadium. This year our club was paired with Serene Rex who was selected to run in Trap 1 in Heat 1. Unfortunately due to sickness Serene Rex was withdrawn prior to the race and thus ends our involvement in this year’s competition. We wish all clubs still involved the best of luck and encourage our club members to attend the track over the next two weekends to support this fantastic event sponsored by JP McManus and family.
