West Intermediate Football League
Fr. Caseys 2-19 Castlemahon 1-08
Our Intermediate Footballers recorded their third victory in a row in the west intermediate league last Thursday night with another commanding win away to newly promoted Castlemahon. This victory puts Fr. Caseys on top of the group with two outstanding games against Cappagh and Gerald Griffins remaining. One more win should secure a place in the knockout stages. Next up for our Intermediates is a home tie to Cappagh on May 14th.
Limerick GAA:
It was a very busy week of sport for our inter-county teams with mixed fortunes. The Senior Hurlers continued winning ways on Sunday with a hard fought victory over Waterford in Thurles to kick start their Munster campaign. Unfortunately, despite a gallant effort our Senior Footballers lost their Munster Semi-Final encounter against Clare on Saturday evening with one goal separating the sides. They now progress to the Tailteann Cup with their All-Ireland series concluded.
At Minor level our County Hurlers and Footballers recorded important wins against Tipperary and Clare respectively. For both the next game will have a major bearing on their future competition progression. Unfortunately, our U20 Footballers lost their Munster Semi-Final away to Cork to end their campaign while our U20 Hurlers also suffered a narrow defeat away to Tipperary but have a chance to redeem themselves in the coming week.
Well done to all club players making the big commitment at inter-county level and making the club proud. For those involved in the coming week we wish them the very best of luck
