FR CASEYS

Senior West League
Fr. Caseys 3-11 Ballysteen 3-06
Fr. Caseys made it four wins from four last Friday evening in the West Senior League with a 3-11 to 3-06 victory over Ballysteen in Abbeyfeale. Well done to all players and management on this positive start to the 2022 campaign. Similarly our Intermediate Footballers also finished their group campaign undefeated and both teams now qualify for their respective West League Semi-Finals which are proposed for the final week of May. The likely opponents for our Senior team will be Newcastle West while our Intermediates will face either Feenagh or Castlemahon from the opposing group. These knockout ties will be ideal preparation for the teams ahead of the county championship which starts on the first weekend in July. Winning is a habit and long may this rich vein of form continue but with the return of county players to the various panels for championship we are also aware that the difficult games only start from this point forward.
Limerick GAA
Munster Final here we come. Major congratulations to the Limerick Senior Footballers including our own Adrian Enright who booked their place in the Munster Final by defeating Tipperary by 2-10 to 0-10 last Saturday evening in Thurles. Having broken Clare hearts in the previous round via a penalty shootout win, this time they only needed 70 minutes and are now just one match away from creating history. Standing in their way will be a highly fancied Kerry team but Billy Lee and his charges have upset the odd many times already this year and hopefully they have one more shock in store. The Final will take place on Saturday May 28th in Killarney with a 3pm throw in.
Well done also to the Limerick Senior hurlers who finished their Munster league phase with a 1-21 to 0-24 draw against Clare in Ennis last Sunday. They now finish the group stages with an unbeaten record and will face Clare again in the Munster Final on June 5th.
Best of luck to the Limerick U20 Hurlers including our own Adam Fitzgerald who take on Kilkenny this coming Sunday in the All-Ireland final. This game takes place in Thurles with a 1.30pm throw in. Hopefully lady luck shines on them and another All-Ireland crown can return to shannonside.
