Intermediate West League
Fr. Caseys 0-15 Cappagh 1-10
Our Intermediate Footballers travelled to Cappagh last Wednesday evening to play round 3 of the West League and aiming to keep their winning run going after narrow victories over Glin and Athea in previous rounds. This game turned out to be another nail biting affair but under the guidance of Seamus McNamara this team have forged a habit of winning tight games. On the night there was impressive performances from Cathal Broderick, Cathal Harnett, Sam Quigley and Sean O’Donnell. And with the last kick of the game our goalie Kevin Lane proved to be the hero, pulling off a vital penalty save to deny Cappagh a late victory. We have now qualified for the knockout stages of the competition with one more league game remaining against Newcastle West at home on May 14th.
