Jack Quaid RIP
Last Monday the sad news filtered throughout the parish and County of the sad passing of Jack Quaid RIP. Jack was a stalwart for Feohanagh and Limerick for many years. His career ran parallel with that of his twin brother Jim. Jack won a county Junior title with Feohanagh in 1954 where he lined out in the half back line. He also played with Western Gaels and lost the final in 1954.Limerick won the All Ireland Junior Hurling title in 1954 and both Jack and Jim were key players. He played Senior for Limerick in 1955 and they won the Munster final against Clare. Jack also won a Railway Cup Medal with Munster. Jack won a county cup with Feohanagh in 1964. He was a fierce competitor and well able to take care of himself on the playing field. When Jack retired on the playing field he began refereeing and gave great service and was well respected throughout the county. Jack was a great club man and sold the Mackey stand draw for many years. Jack had the unique distinction of being the father and grandfather of All Star Winners. Jack passed away on Monday 22nd February. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. The club would like to extend our sympathy to his family . May he rest in peace.
