Results
U21 Hurling B Championship
Belville Gaels 1-16 Dromin Athlaca 1-10
Belville Gaels played their 2nd match in the U21 B Hurling Championship on Friday night in Mick Neville Park. The game was played in the synthetic pitch and conditions were ideal with the sliotar hopping off the ground. In the first half the backlines were on top for both sides. Belville were under pressure but Patrick Murrihy in goal and his backs held firm with Rory O’Connor and Jack Condon very prominent. Jack Kenny traded frees with his Athlaca counterpart & David Boyce and Conor Stack had 2 fine scores from play. Even though they were under pressure Belville were leading 6 points to 4 points but Athlaca
scored 2 late points for the side to finish level at half time. The second half was only a minute old when Belville were awarded a penalty and Jack Kenny scored it. Athlaca were next to score but then they seemed to lose their disipline and Jack Kenny punished them every time. Athlaca got back into the game on 21 minutes when a long range free went directly into the Belville net. Belville regrouped and had points from Dylan O’Connor, David Boyce and a beauty from Michael Cremin. Micheal Nolan, David O’Brien , Eoin Galvin Rory O’Connor and Tristan Sheerin stood firm in the back and Belville ran out deserving winners in the end. Final score line Belville Gaels 1-16 Dromin Athlaca 1-10. Team: P Murrihy, T Sheerin, D O’Brien, R O’Connor, Eoin Galvin, M Nolan, J Condon, D Donavan, M Cremin, D Boyce, J Kenny, C Stack, Dylan O’Connor, T McCarthy, J Roche.
