Munster Junior Football Semi Final
This Saturday Quaid Park Coolyroe was the venue for the well anticipated clash between Castlemahon and Fossa in the Munster Junior Football Semi Final.
A lot of work has been carried out in the filed in Coolyroe by wonderful club members to get everything ready for the big game and we would like to thank everyone that has helped out. A huge crowd turned out in the sold out event in Quaid Park to see the match between Limerick and Kerry junior champions but also to see the magic of the Football of the year David Clifford and his brother Paudie. It was a flying start from the visitors Fossa and they picked off their scores much easier than the home team. They had a 13 point advantage at half time which was something Castlemahon could not claw back. It may not have been Castlemahons day but what a year they have had being crowned county champions and also for bringing back the thrill and excitement for all their supporters back into the parish of Feohanagh/Castlemahon. Fossa are now through to the Munster final in 2 weeks. There were spectacular scenes afterwards as the 3 All Ireland champions Seamus Flanagan, David and Paudie Clifford were swarmed by children just to get a picture with their heros on the pitch. Well done to everyone involved in the organising of the match last Saturday. It was a major success and the field and surroundings were in immaculate condition.
