DROMIN /ATHLACCA GAA CLUB NOTES
Fixtures + Results: Due to the ongoing bad weather recently, many fixtures were cancelled or reschedules. Next Friday March 6th sees our U21 hurling team play Belville Gaels in Mick Neville Park Rathkeale at 8pm
The Junior B Football League gets underway nest Saturday March 7th when we travel to Crecora. Our Football team gave us great enjoyment in 2019 and we look forward to another great year in 2020
The Limerick Club Draw was launched last week with the first draw due to take place on April 4th. The Exclusice Star Prize for March will see one lucky family of 2 Adults + 2 Children win a trip for the May Bank Holiday Weekend to Center Parc Activity Centre in Longord. There will be 29 other cash prizes per month with a Top Prize of 10,000e er month giving you 300 good reasons to play! Full infotmation on Club Draw 2020 can be received from Ian Kelleher or Ann Breen.
Lotto: the 6,950 Jackpot was not won this week. Lucky Dip winners were Maggie 40e, Shane Hannon 20e and John Sheahan 20e. Next weeks jackpot will be 7,000e, and the draw will take place in McAuliffes Bar. Anyone interested in joining both Limerick Club Draw and Club Lotto Draw can do so by contacting Ann Breen
Club membership is now open for 2020 at a cost of 30e. Closing date for membership is April 17th. Payment can be made to Ian Kelleher and Ged Moynihan. This will cover insurance costs for players and give priority for All Ireland tictets later in the year.
The GAA Healthy Club Walking Group continues weekly with registration @ 7pm at Athlacca GAA pitch. This initiative offers to make exercise more sociable and safer on these dark nights. All are welcome, bring your high vis jackets.
Limerick GAA in association with Frank Hogan Limerick have “ teamed up” to give one lucky supporter the chance to follow their team in style. All proceeds from this “ Win a New Mercedes CLA 180 Draw” with Limerick GAA will be reinvested in the county hurling and football teams representing Limerick from minor right through to senior level. Tickets are being sold online at Limerickgaa.ie/winamercedes @ 20e each with the single lucky winner being announced on June 12th
Garda Vetting: All our coaches who will be involved with players up to the age of 18 years old have to be Garda Vetted. It is an easy process to go through. Garda vetting services are available to any person over 16 years if age who are in a position of responsibility over children. Cnsent from a parent/guardian shall be required for applicants between the age of 16 & 18 years if age. Queries on garda vetting can be made to Child Welfare officer Mary Herlihy.
Registration for underage club members was held last Sunday evening in Athlacca Hall. A great turnout on the night and anyone still interested in joining can contact Susie Sherien, Helen Breen or Emma Walsh. The night also saw our underage ladies football team receive their medals for the fantastic achievements in 2019. Medals were presented to U12A Sheild Winners, U14 Sheild Runners up, U16B League Cup Winners. U15 Hurling team also received medals on the night along with U8 + U1O. Training schedule will be posted shortly, keep an eye on social media and local advertising. Thanks to David Reidy for attending and presenting medals.
