County Intermediate Football Championship Quarter Final

Dromcollogher/ Broadford 1-05
This was a game on two halves with Rathkeale leading by 6 points to a point at the break and then in the second half Dromcollogher/ Broadford out-scored Rathkeale by 1-4 to 0-5, to give Rathkeale the victory by a three points and our goal came from Séan O’Sullivan his third goal of the season, the above club would like to thank the Management team of Micheál Reidy, James Neenan and the backroom team of Gary Noonan, Jim Barry, Jimmy Lacey, Colm Meaney. Physio Tadgh O’Sullivan, Secretary Eoin Barry, Chairman Adrian Cahill, PRO Gareth Meaney, Video Jason Nash and the panel of players led by Cillian Fahy captain for their effort in the year gone by.
Rathkeale scored the first two points of the game coming from Mikey Morrissey and Eoin Kelly and then Kevin Noonan replied with a point for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to leave a point between the sides. Rathkeale scored the last four points of the half, and these points came from Barry Coleman, Eoin Kelly, Josh O’Connor, and Darragh O’Grady. To leave the score at half-time Rathkeale 0-6 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-1.
Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first two points of the second half and these points came from James Molyneaux and Kevin Noonan to leave three points between the sides and then Rathkeale scored the next three points coming with two of these coming from Kevin Shanahan and the other coming from Mikey Morrisey to lead by six points. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two points coming from Kevin Noonan and Derry McCarthy just before the water break to leave four points between the sides and then Darragh O’Grady scored the next point for Rathkeale to leave five points between the sides. Sean O’Sullivan of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first and only and our goal of the game, his third goal of the season, to leave two points between the sides with 49 minutes gone in the game and then Mikey Morrissey of Rathkeale scored the last point of the game to leave three points between the sides at end of the game. To leave the score at full-time Rathkeale 0-11 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 1-5.

U15 All County Division 2 Football Shield Final
Dromcollogher/ Broadford defeated Cappamore in the under 15 county shield final on Saturday last. The game was played in Mick Neville Park Rathkeale, and the crowd were treated to a very entertaining and sporting game of Football in ideal weather conditions. Dromcollogher/ Broadford started very strong and led at half time by 3-4 to 6 points with the goals coming from Robbie Lynch (2) and Aaron Leahy. Cappamore rallied back in the second half to cut the lead to just 3 points before Dromcollogher/ Broadford finished very strongly and the game finished up Dromcollogher/ Broadford 4-11 to Cappamore 2-7, Ronan O’Sullivan with our goal. Our Super Captain Conor O Brien collected the Shield and gave 3 Cheers to a gallant Cappamore team. Well, done to all involved, it was great to finish the year with some silverware. The panel of players were: Aaron Angland, Diarmuid Reidy, Ben Croake, Robert Jefferys, Ger O’Callaghan, Conor O’Brien, Noise O’Connor, Ollie Brudair, Shane Geary, Ronan O’Sullivan, Robbie Lynch, Adam O’Kelly, Conor Mackessey, Aaron Leahy, Gavin Farrell, John Linehan, Shane Browne, Adam Sheils, Ryan Sheehan, and Adam White. The Management team were: George O’Sullivan, John O’Kelly, Garrett Noonan and James Noonan.
Dromcollogher/ Broadford GAA Club Lotto Draw
The following are the Results of the Lotto Draw that took place on the 27-09-2021, and the numbers were: 14, 17, 28, 31. There was no winner of Jackpot at €3,300 and there was two winners of match three at €100 and they each got €50 and they were: Mary Ann Curtin and Mag McLoughlin, Knocktoosh, Broadford and the Lucky Dips at €50 each were: John Leahy, Dromcollogher, and Kathleen Barry, Broadford and next week’s draw will take place Monday 04-10-21, in the GAA Field, Dromcollogher and the Jackpot will be going up to €3,400 and the Match Three will be staying at €100.
Lotto tickets are available in local shops in the area where the boxes are provided and available for sale in the local square on Friday and Saturday mornings from 9am to 1pm.
New Defibrillator and Defibrillator Training
On behalf of Dromcollogher/Broadford GAA we would like to thank everyone that contributed to our fundraiser to purchase our new defibrillator and heated storage box. We now have a new LIFEPAK CR2 Defibrillator stored in a heated Defibstore 4000 Polycarbonate box, and it is positioned on the front wall of our clubhouse. Dromcollogher/Broadford GAA would like to train all our community in how to use the defibrillator, especially given what has happened in recent times.
