County Junior A Hurling Championship Semi-Final 2020

Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-11
This was a very one-sided game with the Patrickswell were the much better team and stronger team on the night bringing an end to Dromcollogher/Broadford’s run in the 2020 County Championship.
Patrickswell scored the first two points of the game to lead by two points and then Derry McCarthy scored a pointed free of the game for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to leave a point between the sides. Patrickswell then grabbed the initiative with the next 1-2 of the game to lead by six points and then Derry McCarthy replied with another free to leave five points between the sides. Patrickswell scored the next two points to lead by seven points and then Derry McCarthy scored another pointed free for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to leave six points between the sides at the water break and then Patrickswell extended their lead the next three points to leave nine points between the sides. Derry McCarthy again slotted over a free for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to leave eight points between the sides and then Patrickswell scored their second goal of game just before the break to leave 11 points between the sides at end of the half., leaving Dromcollogher/Broadford with an uphill task. To leave the score at half-Time Patrickswell 2-9 to 0-4.
Patrickswell scored the first two points of the second half to leave 13 points between the sides and then Dromcollogher/Broadford showed some resolve by scoring the next five points with four points coming from Derry McCarthy including one from a fantastic sideline ball and the other well taken point from Denis Donegan to leave eight points between the sides. Patrickswell scored the next two points of the game to lead by ten points with 56 minutes gone the game. Substitute Niall O’Brien scored the next point for Dromcollogher/ Broadford from long distance to leave nine points between the sides. Patrickswell scored the next 0-4 of the game to leave 13 points of the game between the sides and Derry McCarthy scored a late pointed free for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to leave 12 points between the sides. Patrickswell scored the next 1-1 of the game to lead by 16 points between the sides and then Derry McCarthy scored the last pointed free for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to leave 15 points between the sides at the full-time whistle.

Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-10
This was a very tight game with two evenly matched sides on the day, we were unlucky to lose out Tournafulla on the first day out of the League next, we are playing Crecora/ Mainster, on this coming Sunday June 20th, in Crecora, at 12 noon.
Tournafulla scored the first point of the game from a free and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next thee points with two of these excellent points from play coming from Jack Shanahan and the other point coming from Graham Roche from an impossible angle to give a lead of two points at the water break. Tournafulla scored another pointed free to leave a point between the sides and then Brian Stack scored the next two points for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to leave three points between the sides. Tournafulla scored the next two points to leave a point between the sides and then Niall O’Brien scored the next point from distance for Dromcollogher/ Broadford just before the break to lead by two points at the break, to leave the score at half-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-6 to 0-4.
Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two points all coming from Brian Stack to lead by four points and then Tournafulla scored the next point to leave three points between sides. Brian Stack scored the next point for Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored to extend the lead to four points once again and then Tournafulla scored the next point to leave three points the sides. Brian Stack scored the next pointed free for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to lead by four points between the sides. The final water break led to a turnaround as Tournafulla took control of the game to score the next 1-3 of the game to lead by three points just before the end of the game which despite late pressure they held onto to gain the win.

To the Limerick senior footballers especially Cillian and Garrett against Derry in the Division 3 National Football League Semi-Final, Limerick were unlucky to lose to Derry on scoreline of 0-15 to 0-11 with Cillian Fahy scoring a point in the first half of the game, they are two weeks away from with Waterford, in Munster Senior Football Championship Quarter Final, in LIT Gaelic Grounds, on Saturday June 26th, at 3pm.
