Dromcollogher/ Broadford 1-12
A game of contrasting fortunes with Ballysteen in Newcastlewest as a late Derry McCarthy penalty equalised for Dromcollogher/Broadford in a game in which they trailed throughout. This result means we need Newcastle West to beat Ballysteen by 13 points or more for us qualify for the Quarter Finals, if not we are playing against Na Pairsaigh in the Regulation Semi-Final.
Danny Neville quickly scored the first of the 1-2 of the game with 2 minutes gone in the game to leave Dromcollogher/Broadford with an uphill task. James Molyneaux scored the first point of the game for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to leave four points between the sides. Ballysteen scored the two points to leave six points between the sides and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two points coming from Brian Ahern and Derry McCarthy to leave four points between the sides and foothold in the game for Dromcollogher/Broadford. Ballysteen scored the next point to lead by five points and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two points coming from Derry McCarthy and Kevin Noonan to leave a goal between the sides. Ballysteen scored the next two points to lead by five points and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the point coming from Derry McCarthy from a free to leave four points between the sides at the break. To leave at score at half-time Ballysteen 1-7 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-6 with the early Ballysteen salvo looming large.
Ballysteen scored the next point to lead by five points and then Kevin Noonan scored another point for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to leave four points between the sides once again. John O’Shaughnessy scored the second half for Ballysteen to leave seven points with 35 minutes gone in the game. Dromcollogher/Broadford responded with great heart to score the next 1-4 of the game and salvage a valuable draw. These scores coming from Brian Aherne (free) and Kevin Noonan along with 1-2 from Derry McCarthy with an expertly dispatched injury time penalty the highlight, to bring the sides back on level terms for the first and only time during the game. This left the score at full-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 1-12 to Ballysteen 2-09 and Dromcollogher/Broadford still with hopes for qualification.

U12 Hurling Notes
On Thursday night our hurlers played there first round of the hurling league. This game was against the newly formed hurling club of Athea which is up and running only a couple of years. On a wet and windy night our boys were much stronger on the evening they racked up a big on the night. They will be bigger challenges ahead. Well done to all the boys on the night, fair play to Athea team hope they keep at it hopefully it is on words and up words for them. Our list of players were as follows: J. Lenihan, S. Browne, A.
