This was a game played in Tournafulla on Saturday evening with a late second half run of 2-3 unanswered leading to Dromcollogher/ Broadford’s first win of the campaign. After two rounds the table reads as follows: Claghaun and Crecora/ Manister 4 points each, Dromcollogher/ Broadford 2 points, Monagea and Ahane a point each and Staker Wallace nopoints.
Monagea scored the first goal inside the first minute of the game to lead three points and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford replied coming from Derry McCarthy with a pointed free to leave two points between the sides. Monagea scored the next point to put three points between the sides once again and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next point coming from
Derry McCarthy to leave two points between the sides once again. Derry McCarthy of Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Séan Herlihy exchanged further pointed frees on two occasions to leave two points between the sides once again and then Séan Herlihy scored the next pointed free for Monagea to leave three points between the sides once again. Denis Donegan scored the next point for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to leave two points between the sides once again before Monagea scored their second goal of the game with 15 minutes gone
in the game to leave five points between the sides at the first water break.. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two points coming from Derry McCarthy and Brian Aherne to leave three points in the game again. Monagea scored the next three points to put six points between the sides. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next three points with two of these coming from Derry McCarthy scored two of these both coming from frees and the other point
coming from Paul Madigan from play to leave three points once again. Another Monagea goal of the game injury time in the first half of the game to leaving a deficit of 6 points to be bridged at half-time with the score of Monagea 3-6 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-9.
Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first three points of the second half and these points came from Paul Madigan, Brian Aherne and Denis Donegan to leave three points between the
sides once again and then Monagea scored the next two points of the game to leave five points between the sides. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next four points to pull within one. Three of these points coming from Derry McCarthy from placed balls and the other point coming from long range from Jimmy Kiely to leave a point between the sides. Monagea pulled ahead again scoring the next two points of the game to leave three points between the sides once again. Derry McCarthy scored the next pointed free for Dromcollogher/ Broadford two leave points between the sides and then Monagea scored the next point to leave three points between the sides once again. Dromcollogher/ Broadford
scored the next two points coming James Molyneaux and Derry McCarthy to leave a point between the sides and then Monagea scored the next and their final score of the game to leave two points between the sides.
Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next 2-3 of the game to give us lead for the first time during the game to lead by three points between the sides. The first goal came in the 62nd minute of the game when the freshly introduced Michael O’Sullivan offloaded to Keith Lacey who finished well. Dromcollogher/ Broadford tacked on a further goal when good work from James Molyneaux and O’Sullivan again led to Denis Donegan rifling home with 67 minutes on the clock. Keith Lacey landed a further point to leave seven points between the sides at the end of the game. This left the score at full-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 2-22
to Monagea 3-12.
